Cafe Manager
Salary:

Responsible to: General Manager
Main Activities:
* To supervise all Café Crew on a day-to-day basis, ensuring performance potential is optimised, all work is carried out to the high standards set, and motivation and morale levels are high.
* To assist in the recruitment, induction, training and development of all Café staff, focusing on customer service and maximisation of performance.
* To provide an excellent level of customer service at all times. To deal with any customer contact/complaints/comments professionally and courteously with issues being referred to the appropriate member of staff if necessary.
* To work closely with the Events & Catering Manager and Marketing Manager concerning service improvements, initiatives and compliance with the Café brand.
* To work closely with the Duty Managers to ensure all expected standards are adhered to by the Café staff at all times.
* To monitor and maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness and hygiene as stipulated by Environmental Health.
* To manage cost effective portion control, efficient stock rotation and liaison with suppliers and effect training to ensure consistent staff compliance.
* Arrangement of working hours will be as decided by the General Manager, and will be in keeping with the operational and business requirements of the Leisure Centre.
* Due to the nature of the business and opening hours, flexibility is required in terms of hours; days, evenings and weekends and bank holidays will be required, on a rota basis in line with business needs. No additional payment will be made.
* Occasionally, training and meetings will be organised outside normal working hours. The post holder will be expected to attend whenever practicably possible.
* Personal hygiene and presentation is of prime importance. Food handling and associated work must not be undertaken when the post holder is suffering from a medical condition, which can be transmitted through such activities.
* To undertake any other duties as reasonably required.
Essential Requirements:
* Catering related qualification, BTEC or City and Guilds
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
* Experience within a business/catering operation is essential, preferably in a
* customer driven environment.
* Supervisory experience is essential.
* The post holder must be a genuine team player and leader with a high level of responsibility, flexibility, enthusiasm and motivation.
Desirable Requirements:
* The post holder should enthuse and motivate staff.
* Good understanding of people management and the ability to successfully supervise others and role model expected behaviours.
* The post holder should be able to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and integrity promoting excellent performance throughout.
