In what year did your company launch?
The Clarins success story began in 1954, with the opening of its first institute in Paris by Jacques Courtin-Clarins, who created new massage methods using the first totally pure plant extract treatment oils.
Today, taken over by the founder's two sons and with nearly 60 years' experience, this family business is present in over 150 countries and is a major player in the field of Beauty and Institute Treatments and still made solely in France.

What are the main services and products that your company provides for spa operators?
Clarins offers high quality, plant-rich, exceptional skin care formulas and exclusive 100 per cent manual massages and treatments that are tailored to the needs of the customers and each business. A menu of over 90 spa treatments for face, body, pregnancy and men has been developed. Every Clarins product is continually updated and enhanced by the family-owned research laboratories where around 80 staff are devoted to research and development (for example 100 tests are necessary before launching a new product). The high performance ClarinsPRO professional products line has been formulated exclusively dedicated to treatments and massages. Clarins advises spa operators on the commercial development, including development of the business plan, choice of location, the treatment menu, and our architects and merchandisers can propose layout plans and counsel the spa operator on design and furniture.

What are your company's unique selling points/key benefits?
Clarins offers excellent on going training programmes on products and methods for the opening, during launches and regularly throughout the year as and when there are newly hired beauty therapists. Furthermore we offer extensive marketing and media support to assist with retail sales and overall increase of profitability of the spa. Consumer awareness of Clarins is strong and this drives business to spas, plus, our dedicated spa marketing division of three people creates year long promotional plans to support our clients. Additionally we propose merchandising recommendations adapted to our clients' projects.
Clarins also offers an amenities range based on the mythic Eau Dynamisante with an exclusive hotel line (distributed by Groupe GM) to support its credibility in the spa and hotel environment and to contribute to a new form of brand communication. With Clarins you'll benefit from the best press relations for the promotion of your hotel and spa.

What additional service do you offer?
In addition to the Clarins brand, we offer MY Blend, the new Clarins Group's skin care brand created by Dr. Olivier Courtin. It offers high-grade ingredients and formula that can be tailored to an individual's needs on any given day. While relaxing and pampering therapies are on offer the focus on My Blend is very much on technical, results-orientated services.

How many spas do you supply?
Clarins operates 210 skin spas worldwide of which 140 attached to counters plus 70 operated and managed by Clarins. We are also present in 70 spas in luxury hotels and resorts (some of them include other brands additionally to Clarins). The first Spa My Blend by Clarins was launched at the Raffles Royal Monceau in Paris in September 2011 and a second one in May at the Ritz-Carlton, Toronto in Canada.

What are your goals for 2012/2013?
Our goal is to be the number one spa brand for retail and hotel/day spa markets.

What new products/services will you be launching in 2012/2013?
We will be reformulating our slimming line and adding a new Clarins PRO body product. Furthermore we will be launching a new wellness program with the Raffles and Royal Monceau in 2013.

What major spa projects will you be working on in 2012/2013?
A Spa by Clarins with Intercontinental in Marseille
