GLL is looking for a Facilities Assistant based in Islington to ensure the maintenance and safety of nine facilities and their contents, ranging from state of the art gyms and swimming pools to floodlit tennis courts and sports halls. Working across Sobell Leisure Centre, Highbury Pool & Gym, Archway Leisure Centre, Cally Pool & Gym, Finsbury Leisure Centre, Ironmonger Row Baths, Holloway School, Islington Tennis Centre & Gym and Market Road artificial turf pitches, this role sits in the facilities management team working with the Area Facilities Manager and the Islington Facilities Manager.

As a Facilities Assistant (Handyman), you’ll be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own, and have a good a good eye for detail to repair issues. With an understanding of health and safety regulations, you’ll ensure the safety and convenience of staff and customers by implementing repairs when necessary, with minimal disruption.

You’ll need to have previous maintenance or construction industry experience, including technical qualifications such as building; plumbing, carpentry and / or decorating etc would be desirable. Good communication skills and written literacy are a must in this role.
