GLL is looking for a London-based Head of GLL College to run our national training college. This is a brand new role within GLL that offers the chance to be your own boss and develop the College into a semi-autonomous business unit. Our College is at an exciting phase, where it's maturing from delivering mainly short courses for in-house training to be able to deliver a full range of learning and development interventions that support our entire organisations' strategic workforce plan from apprenticeships right through to management and leadership training. With a workforce of 14,000 and growing, and training budgets of up to £2 million per year, that's no mean feat; this is where you come in. We're already an approved training provider listed in the Register of Training Organisations and the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers - the only one in our sector and rare for an 'employer college'. Our courses mainly serve the leisure sector and ensure we have a competent and qualified workforce able to keep the UK's gyms, pools, leisure centres and libraries safe and staffed with highly-trained and motivated staff.

A key part of the HR Leadership team, you'll work closely with our HR Director and other senior colleagues to build strategic workforce plans with aligned training as part of our internal career pathways. Passionate about seeing people develop, you could help today's apprentices become tomorrow's leaders. This is about being able to consistently plan and ensure the delivery of high-quality vocational training so that we continue to have the right people, in the right job, working to the higher purpose of keeping our communities healthy, active and of course, employable. You'll have a full team of people to support you, be it apprenticeship managers, skills developers or admin support leaving you free to develop the strategy, systems and processes that allow our workforce customers to have a great experience while searching for, booking and attending their training courses.

You'll have a background in leadership from the education or training sectors and will ideally have a post-grad qualification in a related subject. Results-oriented and with experience of delivering transformation and growth within an FE or training environment, you'll stay abreast of trends and regulations in apprenticeships and education, ensuring we're always ahead of our game and providing our workforce with slick, user-friendly, modern systems and training. An excellent communicator with a natural gravitas, you'll help GLL College build an excellent reputation within GLL and the wider sector.
