An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Management Team at The Isca Centre as a Fitness Operations Manager. This is a new gym currently comprising of 35 to 40 stations and part of the 7 Leisure Facilities in Exeter currently operated by Legacy Leisure. We are going through a period of exciting change and we need the best people to join our effective and dynamic teams.

All employees benefit from complementary usage of the facilities as part of their employment. You will be responsible for the management of the fitness team and ensuring excellent customer service is provided. You will work alongside the General Manager to achieve targeted sales and reduce the membership attrition rate. You will also be responsible for planning and managing the centre’s outreach events.
The successful applicant will need to be an ambitious, enthusiastic and outgoing, eager to succeed in this competitive industry and be driven by targets and goals. You will need to be a natural leader, able to motivate and drive your team to achieve.
The successful applicant must be an experienced fitness instructor with a proven track record of succeeding in a fitness and management role. Additional group exercise qualifications will be of benefit.
You will require an eye for detail, have an in depth knowledge of fitness, be computer literate and able to manage budgets. You must be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and have a genuine interest in the health & fitness market.

Sales & Fitness MANAGER
Cowbridge / Barry Leisure Centre
Salary: Circa £20,000 per annum
Full Time 40 Hours Per Week

Located in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan Barry Leisure Centre is a busy facility including a wide range of facilities and services including two gyms and fitness studios. Cowbridge serves the local community in the west part of the contract for dry side sports and leisure, with recent developments underway to expand is fitness offering.

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual looking to to enhance their career in sales with a passion for health and fitness. Reporting to the Centre Manager, the post holder will have specific responsibility for the sales and marketing strategy, delivering sound working practice and overseeing the fitness operation of the facilities.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate problem solving attributes, attention to detail and ensure that exceptional customer service is delivered and upheld by all staff. They will be focused day to day on the need to attract, secure and retain customers, meeting their expectations and addressing directly where this has not been possible

The position is subject to a DBS Disclosure. Experience in sales and marketing practices are essential, combined with knowledge of the health and fitness industry. A recognised management and / or fitness qualification would also be advantageous.

This is a full-time role on a shift pattern of early mornings, late evenings and weekend shifts.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Duty Manager looking to develop their career at a high performing leisure centre. Riverside Leisure Centre is a flagship site with a 25 metre 6 lane swimming pool, teaching pool, 90 station ‘Expressions’ Gym, Health suite, group fitness studios, 2 squash courts and Sports Hall 6 badminton courts.
Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for delivering customer excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care, financial procedures and leading and managing multiple departments. The post includes working on a shift pattern, working over 40 hours per week. Each Duty Manager post is subject to its own agreed responsibilities.

An NPLQ or First Aid at Work certificate is essential and Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable as well as a recognised Leisure Management qualification.
The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry and a good level of experience of working in a very busy wet/dry facility. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a total commitment to customer service are essential. Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

JOB DESCRIPTION
An opportunity now exists within our Exeter contract for a number of Recreation Assistant’s at our Pyramids Leisure Centre and Riverside Leisure Centre sites.

This key role will report to the Duty Manager and will involve lifeguarding the two swimming pools at the site you are based at, dealing with customer enquiries and ensuring that the general presentation of the facilities is excellent.

The ability to work as part of a team is essential and a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, First Aid at Work Certificate or Swimming Teaching qualifications would be an advantage.

If you are a competent swimmer but not currently a qualified Lifeguard then we will be able to put you through the qualification if we believe you are suitable for the role.
The working hours will be based on a shift pattern including evenings and weekends. The successful candidate will be dynamic, will love meeting people and be able to think on their feet. You must be able to ensure the sound operation and safety of the facility and customers during your duty shift.
The successful candidates should have knowledge of the leisure industry, excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to customer service. This position is subject to a DBS check.
