About The Role
Manage a team of fun driven and enthusiastic magic and memorable experience makers. We are now looking for an exceptional Duty Manager to oversee the smooth and safe running of the retail aspects of the attraction on a daily basis. The Duty Manager will lead the Commercial teams in their goal of delivering unique, memorable, and rewarding experiences to all our guests.

Responsibilities:
* Assumes position of Duty Manager in rotation with Management Team; may also assume position of front line Team Member, Trainer, Team Lead, as needed.
* Ensure the attraction is presented and maintained to Merlin Entertainments, plc acceptable standards in all areas at all times.
* Monitors standards of service and guest response to overall product, through observations and guest comments.
* Monitors team performance in regards to achieving Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Mystery Visit targets.
* Recommends short and long-term changes through feedback, daily reports and proposals.
* Coaches and motivates staff to provide best possible guest experience, to maximize sales opportunities and to ensure admission and commercial spend targets are achieved.
* Demonstrates strong service and sales approach; leading by example throughout the Attraction to maximize up-sells, product excellence, event delivery, etc.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

About You
* Minimum of 2-3 years of service industry experience with 1-2 years of supervisory experience
* Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service in high-pressure and/or stressful situations.
* Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
* Desire to work in fast-paced environments.
* Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

Education:
High school or GED required.

We are currently hiring for a Duty Manager that will be right in the heart of our magic.

Responsibilities
* Effectively monitor the visitor experience via the use of standard checklists and continuous monitoring of on-site activity
* Monitor quality standards and procedures via ‘walking and testing the attraction’ at regular intervals throughout each day
* Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within
* Understand risk assessments within own workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to the Operations Manager.
* To oversee the daily security of all cash on site and to monitor compliance with the cash handling requirements of the operations manual
* Ensure the highest possible standards of Guest Service, presentation, technical operation and Safety in all operational areas of the attraction.
* To be fully trained to cover all aspects of Guest Experience Entertainments.
* Responsible for management of team, setting objectives, corrective disciplinary action, probationary reviews, appraisals and training
* Assist in recruiting team members within the Operations Entertainments department
* Adopts an enthusiastic, assertive and passionate approach to Customer Service, and demonstrates the Group values at every opportunity
* Overall responsibility for scheduling of assigned core teams to ensure proper coverage and staff utilization for the delivery of customer service to our guest.
* Propose training needs and operational changes in order to continually improve the delivery of the experience
* Takes an active role in devising and implementing Customer Service strategy
* Constantly motivating and giving feedback to all frontline staff on their standards of Guest Service. Act as a mentor and coaches on areas for development.
* Actively encourage and support new and innovative ideas from all team members on how to improve the business.
* Contribute to establishment/budget planning, suggesting innovative ways in which to improve deployment of resources
* Responsibility to ensure compliance of Health, Safety & Security within the workplace and in line with the Group Policy (HS001).

Qualifications
* Experience in a customer service role.
* Fun, dynamic, and friendly personality.
* Cash handling experience.
* Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills.
* Management experience
* Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

About The Role
* Drives positive culture throughout team by leading engaging team meetings, maintaining high quality standards and coaching team members to deliver high standards.
* Responsible for the stocking and proactive ordering of retail products to ensure 100% variety of offering
* Manages both good and poor performance in an effective manner, ensuring systems are in place to cope with operational challenges.
* Responsible for monitoring daily spends and implementing strategies to drive sales of high-yield products.
* Impacting on local short-mid term results, the role will drive the above mentioned KPIs to target levels and above, whilst controlling labour costs and turnover in a proactive manner.
* Accountable for daily spends and improving commercial revenue in the site
* External communication with suppliers to ensure that all products, allowing for 100% variety on the Retail floor.
* Liaising with Merlin Group commercial senior team to discuss menu adaptations, operational issues, etc.
* Expectation to deliver weekly updates on spends and KPIs, including strategies to improve this.
* Responsible for variable wage budget for Commercial department, as well as exercising controls on cost of sales, and reviewing the monthly P&L with the General Manager.
* To adhere to all company policies concerning Health and Safety, WHMIS 2015 & GHS regulations.

About You
* 1 year of experience supervising a retail store or similar
* Attention to detail & advanced planning and organizing skills necessary.
* Possess strong management communication skills (both verbal and written)
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to coach and mentor team partners with professional maturity
* Desire to work in a fast-paced environment
* Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi- task as necessary
* Must be flexible to work shifts outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays
