Are you passionate, highly motivated and love working in a dynamic environment within a team? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us at SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast. The Senior Aquarist position works within the Displays department and assists with the day to day care of the animals within the aquarium. This position involves working with a variety of animals including fish, sharks, sea jellies, inverts, land based reptiles and humans. You will have the chance to not only care for these amazing animals, but also to promote education and conservation through providing a unique experience for our guests. This position involves working a 5 day week including work on weekends and public holidays.

About You
Mandatory Requirements:
• A minimum of 3 years practical experience within the aquarium industry
• Extensive knowledge of freshwater, saltwater and land based animal husbandry techniques in varied building climates
• Experience in identification of animal health issues and their treatment
• Experience with Life Support Systems & Water Quality monitoring and maintenance
• Excellent observation and record keeping skills, verbal and written communication skills, organisational and decision making skills
• Computer skills using MS Office
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable including making the most of a challenging or unfamiliar environment, the ability to act with urgency and respond positively to situations
• Ability to problem solve, including understanding the issues, the cause of the issues and making sound decisions to ensure the issues are resolved.
• Current Australian working rights
• Current Manual Driver’s Licence
• Ability to bending/Stoop; Squat; Crawl; Crouch; Kneel; Balance; Climb Heights (4m); Carry and Lift up to 30kg

Desirable:
• Bachelor degree in biology, zoology, marine science or related field
• Previous experience mentoring and supervising staff
• SCUBA certification of dive master, Instructor or commercial diving qualification (Scientific diving) (ability to obtain within 6 months of employment)
• First Aid and/ or Oxy Resuscitation training
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Ability to work a flexible weekly schedule including weekend work and a combination of day, evening and over night shifts where necessary

About The Role
As a member of the Merlin Guest Experience Host Photo Team, you will help to create lifelong memorable experiences in our attraction for our guests. Working with the Photo Team and in a variety of positions across the attraction, you will drive repeat visits by delivering the highest possible standards of guest service, presentation, and product knowledge. You will ensure that our guests are receiving optimal fun by connecting with them in a magical, fun, and safe environment.

Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Commercial Team to maintain and exceed commercial revenue targets for the Cluster.
Assist Commercial Guest Experience Manager with all reports, data entry and systems
Ensure the highest possible standards of Guest Service, presentation, technical operation and Safety in the attractions.
Drive Commercial Sales above the budgeted SPH targets by develop new Commercial experiences, promotions and expand products lines.
Implementing and carrying out strategies to enable all members of the team to up-sell effectively, maintain or exceed visual merchandizing standard and maintain day to day operations.
Other objectives may be added per the needs of the company.
Responsibility to ensure compliance of Health, Safety & Security within the workplace and in line with the Group Policy (HS001).

About You
Experience in a supervisor role, preferably in either a visitor attraction, theme park, museum, leisure, hotel, restaurant or theatre environment.
Commercial Experience.
Food Industry Experience.
Stock/Inventory Management Experience.
Experience in dealing with guests in difficult situations.
Experience of maintaining the highest level of service in high-pressure situations.
Fun, dynamic, and friendly personality.
Cash handling experience.
Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills.
Able to work in areas with loud noises and confined spaces.
Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
Self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team.
Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

We are the National SEA LIFE Centre in Birmingham and we are part of the magical Merlin Entertainments!

Right now we’re on the lookout for a Retail Team Leader (Maternity Cover) to help deliver a first class memorable experience to every visitor.

About the role
The role of Retail Team Leader is, first and foremost, a customer service role. You will provide a first class experience to the visitor through consistent delivery of excellent customer service, visitor interaction and the provision of smooth operation of our commercial area.

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic team leader to assist with the management and coordination of our Commercial Operations team. Main areas of responsibility will include merchandising and display presentation, ensuring that budgeted spends are achieved and general stock management. You will be liaising with vending machine providers, ordering stock and managing the games operations. You will also ensure that all business KPI’s are being achieved but above all you will motivate the team with the ability to lead by example to provide an incredible day out for our thousands of visitors. This will include supporting in the management of a small team of hosts, as well as supporting the overall operation on a roster basis.

This role is a Fixed Term Maternity Cover hourly paid position, contracted up until 31st May 2020. Hours are Full Time with a minimum guarantee of 25 hours per week (averaged over a rolling 17 week period). Given the 7 day nature of the visitor attraction business, there will be a need for regular weekend and bank holiday working, so you’ll need to be flexible with regards to working days and hours.

About you
Ideally you will have previous team leader/supervisory experience in a fast-moving, customer oriented environment - giving you the ability to think on your feet and solve problems creatively. You will have experience of delivering excellent customer service on a face to face basis (ideally from within a sales, retail, hospitality or entertainments background).

You will need to be a role model for the commercial team, leading by example, setting the high standards expected in this department. You will be able to motivate, organise and ‘think on your feet', taking ownership of issues that may rise. Naturally, you are a reliable customer focused team player and will take pride in ensuring that you are consistently delivering a service that goes above and beyond.

About The Role
Manage a team of fun driven and enthusiastic magic and memorable experience makers. We are now looking for an exceptional Duty Manager to oversee the smooth and safe running of the retail aspects of the attraction on a daily basis. The Duty Manager will lead the retail team in their goal of delivering unique, memorable, and rewarding experiences to all our guests.

Responsibilities:

About You
• Minimum of 2-3 years of service industry experience with 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a visitor attraction, theme park, museum, hotel or retail environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Experience of maintaining flexibility and the highest level of service in high-pressure and/or stressful situations.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi-task as necessary.
• Extensive knowledge of computer including Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Desire to work in fast-paced environments.
• Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

Education:
High school or GED required. College degree preferred.
