We are looking to recruit qualified Swimming Teachers across various leisure centres within Wiltshire, including Pewsey, Salisbury, Devizes, Durrington and Tidworth. We have permanent variable and casual contracts available, so please select your preferences in your application.

We provide a high standard of coaching within a 50-week Swim school, term time school swimming programme or 1-1 tuition environments.

About the role

The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for teaching safe, fun, effective and enjoyable classes, consistent with standards set out within our normal operating procedures.

Key responsibilities include planning sessions in line within guidance and industry standards with the national plan for teaching swimming or schools' curriculum.

On a weekly basis, we need cover for holidays and/or sickness at short notice where required, so we are also looking for casuals that can help out.

Casual Swimming Teachers will also receive a 12.03% holiday plussage on top of the basic hourly rate.

About you

With a level 2 or above ASA swimming teacher qualification or equivalent, you should have experience of teaching children within a leisure environment. Those who do not hold a level 2 or above ASA swimming teacher qualification may be considered for the post as the qualification/full training can be provided.

You will have awareness of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and be able to use your excellent communication and organisational skills to maintain customer focus. You will also be responsible for maintaining all relevant qualifications and attending training sessions as part of normal working arrangements.

Tidworth Leisure Centre is looking to recruit a Gymnastics Coaching Assistant (Level 1) to join our lively and friendly team on a permanent variable basis, working within our gymnastics school programme.

Gymnastics School is our new weekly gymnastics coaching programme, for pre-school children through to fourteen years, which runs most 50 weeks of the year.

About the role

The role involves assisting the lead coach in planning, organising and supervising the weekly gymnastics sessions in line with normal operating procedures, emergency action plans and adopted service standards.

About you

We will look to you to have experience of working with children and have the ability to communicate effectively with proven organisational skills. You will also need to have a friendly personality with a professional approach to duties.

Physically able to carry out duties with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people are key to the success of this role. Minimum of level 1 qualification.

As a Class Instructor you will maintain excellent customer focus at all times, meeting customer expectations and therefore ensuring repeat business. This will include being available to the customers both before and after the sessions to answer queries, motivate and guide.

About you

Do you have the right qualifications, excellent communication skills along with experience of customer care within a leisure environment? If so, we would like to hear from you.

You should possess a valid qualification in specialist activity recognised by the governing professional body or specific group fitness class qualifications such as zumba, studio cycling, circuits, pilates, yoga or aquafit as well as a les mills BTS.

Flexibility to cover holidays and sickness at short notice will be required. Depending upon the individual there may be further opportunities to coach other group fitness exercise classes and progress further with on-going continued personal development.

Instructor pay is performance based and dependent on average class attendance over the previous 4 weeks. An average of 9 or less participants would attract an hourly rate of £13.86, 10 or more participants would attract an hourly rate of £20.79 and 40 or more participants would attract an hourly rate of £24.26. Pilates and Yoga Instructor positions will automatically attract an hourly rate of £24.26 due to these being specialised classes.
