KAL is one of the only Trusts in the UK to provide a complete career in the Aquatics Pathway from Apprenticeships through to Corporate Management. Within this role, you will undertake an agreed Individual Development Plan and Continued Professional Development (CPD) which may include various training opportunities, upskilling of present qualifications and mentoring through the experienced KAL workforce. You will be rewarded with incremental pay progression as you develop, hone your skills and achieve your Individual Development Plan within agreed timescales.

The primary role of an Aquatics Activator is to get people active! Delivering high quality sessions in accordance with the ASA National Plan, you will ensure that all customers have a great experience so that they choose to keep coming back to complete the Aquatic Pathway. You will be asked to work at a range of KAL sites at varying times and days depending on programming so you will need to be flexible on location and hours.

You will be required to deliver sessions that could range from swimming lessons to working with community groups to encourage people from a diverse range of backgrounds to use our facilities; so you will be adaptable and have a range of delivery skills. We need people who know how to lead a session in an engaging, motivating, and, (of course,) safe manner.

You will know what it feels like to have a group fully engaged in a session and you get the buzz that comes from being part of that group. At least 60% of your week will be spent delivering sessions to people.

Sound like you? We’d love to hear from you.

In return, we can offer you a great package of benefits such as:
* Our Staff and Family Membership scheme, which provides virtually free facilities for you and a greatly discounted rate for some of your family.
* A great discount website which can save you and your family loads of money too!
* We have a generous annual leave entitlement
* an excellent pension scheme (West Yorkshire Pension Fund)
* We also like to have fun and celebrate our successes as often as we can

You will hold a minimum of the ASA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics qualification. In addition, applicants must hold either a National Pool Lifeguard Award or the National Rescue Award for Swimming Teaches and Coaches (NRASTC) or be willing to undertake this qualification within 6 months of employment.
