The Community Sport and Wellbeing Team at Chelmsford City Council is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and well qualified person to plan, develop and organise a range of community-based activities and sports sessions to increase the physical activity levels of children and adults.

You will take a proactive role in developing new ideas and reacting to external funding streams to introduce new projects. You'll also supervise casual staff including coaches, instructors and play workers.

An office base will be provided, and you will be required to visit and deliver a number of the activity sessions themselves, alongside their team. We'll also look to you to deliver general marketing and promotion of various projects, engaging with participants and partner organisations by email, phone and social media, as well as other associated administrative tasks.

To be successful, you should have experience of working in the leisure/fitness/sports sector as a coach/leader and ideally have some supervisory experience.

Normal office hours are worked between 8.45am and 4.45pm on Monday - Friday. Please note, you may be asked to work anytime during the week when activity sessions are running, and this will include evening and weekend work.
