Egham Orbit is a brand new leisure facility in Surrey and are currently recruiting for:

Team Leader – Lifeguards

This role is full time, working 37 hours per week. Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the business; specific shift patterns include 'earliest' (5am-1.30pm), 'latest' (1.30pm-10:30pm) and weekends (from 6am/until 10pm).

Previous supervisory experience in the leisure industry is desirable.

Main tasks:

- Leading a team of lifeguards
- Provide an efficient and friendly service for all users of the centres, ensuring that the facilities are fully maintained and clean
- Accessible to customers and staff at all times and take action to deal with customer feedback, complaints and suggestions, and to provide assistance and support to all departments within the centre as required.
- Carrying out relevant and required health and safety checks
- Adhere to the Equality and Diversity Policy, Health and Safety procedures, operating procedures, customer service standards and uniform policy at all times
- Delivering induction to new members of staff

To be successful as a Team Leader you will need:

- Must hold a valid RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- A First Aid at Work Certificate
- Leadership experience in a similar environment and understand the importance of being a team player
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
- Pool Plant Operator Qualifications (desirable)

Lifeguard (Leisure Assistant)

Job Type: Full Time, Part Time

To be considered, we will need you to hold a current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or be able to obtain this qualification by January 2019.

You must also be able to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.


- Spotting hazards and preventing accidents
- To deal with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Giving advice on water safety
- The ability to communicate clearly with people
- Controlling unruly behaviour
- Water rescue
- First aid
- To report any matter of concern to the Duty Manager immediately
- Carry out cleaning duties where necessary
- Carry out daily maintenance checks
- To assist the Duty Manager with any tasks involved in the operation of the centre
- All Pool Lifeguards must attend staff training programmes as required which may fall outside of the working shift pattern. This includes NPLQ as well as additional training sessions, in-line with the job role.

The successful applicants will be subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) before any appointment can be confirmed.
