The Climbing Operations Manager will be responsible for management of the operations team. Responsibilities will range from maintenance and inspection through to the day to day safe running of the centre. You will be required to identify and prioritize the differing needs of a busy and nationally leading indoor climbing facility. The Climbing Operations Manager is required to ensure that the customer journey through the climbing centre is an enjoyable and safe one. Line manage the Climbing Operations team who are a highly skilled team who take responsibility for one of the busiest climbing centre’s in the country.

Principal accountabilities:
The ideal candidate will be Reliable, Helpful, Lively, Sporty and be Industry aware:
• Provide line management of the Climbing Operations Team
◊ Drawing up weekly work schedules to ensure the DMs have direction and are integral to the smooth running of the Climbing centre
◊ Maintaining records and facilitating training for Climbing Operations Team
• Being responsible for:
◊ Organising the inspection of all internal fixtures and fittings on a bi-monthly basis
◊ Organising repairs to the climbing wall as needed
◊ Writing reports on all inspections and record any maintenance and repair work carried out
◊ Ensuring a positive customer experience for all climbers entering the facility
• Ensuring all follow-up work from the annual inspection is carried out in a timely manner
• Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance and checking (and repair where possible) of the various systems in the climbing wall including lighting, heating, high ropes course, sound system and paintwork, including the upkeep of any log books.
• Liaising with contractors and the Site maintenance team in carrying out repair work where necessary.
• Working with the Duty Manager team to ensure that the monthly checks are carried out and recorded on all climbing hardware.
• Being responsible organising all high-level cleaning including the climbing canopy and its supporting steelwork
• Working with the Head of Climbing to develop and regulate the health and safety systems used at the centre
• Providing shift cover for the Climbing Operations Team as required
• Working closely with the Climbing Front of House Manager to make sure the customer journey and experience is safe and a positive one
• Project manage developments at the centre
• Working positively in accordance with Everyone Actives Equal Opportunities Policy
• Working positively within Everyone Actives safeguarding and data protection policy
• Achieving and maintain Quest accreditation
• Carrying out any other duties as may be reasonably required

Person specification:
• Extensive experience of working in a busy commercial climbing centre
• Building, mechanical or maintenance experience desirable
• Experience of working in accordance with Safe Systems of Work and Working at Height
• Previous experience of leading a team
• Ability to work on your own and deliver to immovable dead lines
• Excellent customer service skills
• Extensive climbing experience of all disciplines including Traditional, Sport and Bouldering
• IRATA desirable
• PPE inspection experience desirable
