Female Only Swim Sessions - 40 hours a week pro rata

Better Leisure Centres are now recruiting strong swimmers with a friendly, professional and hard-working outlook to be Lifeguards (Recreation Assistants) to help with our women-only swim sessions at Leyton Leisure Centre in Leyton, East London. Many of our Centre's are in culturally diverse locations and we run female-only swim sessions to accommodate the needs of the communities in the area. If you've never been a Lifeguard before, don't worry we may be able to help facilitate you taking the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course - find out more when you apply.

As a Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) your day will be extremely organised and planned out from the start. You'll have set times on poolside to provide safety. When you're not poolside you have the opportunity to work with the rest of your team, so you'll need to be a real team player. You'll be a key support to your team on a daily basis from preparing the sports hall for various sports and events to the general cleaning and maintenance of the centre - there's always something to do. Delivering excellent customer service is also an important part of this role, so you'll need to be a real people person with great communication skills.

A willingness to learn will benefit you as you'll have the chance to gain new skills and qualifications. You'll receive regular ongoing training that will help you to be the best, and you'll truly get out what you put in. Dedication, hard work and passion will see you go far in this role with career progression opportunities there for the taking.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:
- Pension schemes
- Ride to work scheme
- Discounted membership at our leisure centres
- The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
- Career pathways
- Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you feel your experience matches this role, apply now.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
