We are currently looking for an experienced Leisure Contract Manager to be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the four Leisure facilities managed on behalf of Stevenage Borough Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for liaising with the Stevenage Client Officer and line managing the centre managers. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of managing multifaceted leisure facilities, a detailed understanding of financial procedures, along with a proven ability to achieve results. Knowledge and experience of HR and business planning is also essential.

We are recruiting for an experienced Pool Manager for our award-winning Waterpark in Brean Sands, Brean Splash Waterpark.

Our Indoor facilities are open all year and include a 6 lane 25m pool, Baby Pool, 2 Waterslides and Splash Zone which is a shallow beached entry Pool with 4 mini slides. Our Outside areas open May-Sept and include 3 outdoor water slides and Seaside Pool which has 3 mini waterslides.

Within the Leisure Complex, we have a fantastic Gym and Soft Play area (Brean Play). We run a large Swim School and have an expanding membership database. Our team can exceed 50 team members at peak.

Applicants must hold a valid NPLQ qualification, Pool Plant Operators Certificate and ideally hold a RLSS Trainer Assessor Qualification.

Applicants must also be working (or have worked) at a comparable Pool Manager or Assistant Manager level within a current Leisure Facility and be looking for a new challenge within a larger facility.

Reporting to the Leisure Manager your daily responsibilities will include opening and closing the Waterpark. Operating pool plant, Water testing, Rotas, Cash Handling, Recruitment, Enforcing the NOP & EAP to ensure the safe and compliant running of the Waterpark, Induction and training and mentoring. You will take the role of Assistant Leisure Manager with Pool management responsibilities and work alongside a 2nd Assistant Leisure Manager whose responsibility is for swim school and gym management.

Full time, permanent role working 5.5 days a week, including weekends. Future training and development opportunities are available. Accommodation may be available for 3 months for re-location purposes if required.

You will enjoy working both as part of the fitness team and as part of the larger leisure centre team. You will be expected to use your initiative and work without direct supervision, to maintain a welcoming environment for all customers and to ensure the professional running of busy leisure facilities at all times.

You will be required to work evenings and weekends, and a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.

You will have sports/leisure centre experience and be highly motivated and have the ability to deal with customers in a professional and friendly manner, be able to competently supervise and control a busy fitness suite environment and when required act as a lifeguard and climbing wall instructor.

We are running a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification course in order to expand our team.

The NPLQ course will include classroom sessions on the responsibilities of being a Lifeguard, how to observe our pool guests, how to rescue those in need and administer first aid and CPR.

We are looking for outgoing, friendly and confident people to join our team as Watersports Instructors on a fixed-term contract.

In this role, you will meet and greet our guests, offering them a warm welcome. You will coach and supervise them in a range of exciting activities, allowing them to have fun whilst also feeling safe and secure.

Other responsibilities will include providing instruction during tuition sessions and overseeing the supervision of the lake. You will also maintain all watersports equipment and complete all necessary checks.

This role will also involve you working closely with others within the department as well as across the wider Village, therefore excellent communication skills will be required.

HOURS OF WORK

These are fixed-term contracts until September 2018.

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period on a flexible basis. This means that your hours and days of work may vary each week but you will always receive your contracted hours per period.

Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis and you will be required to work shifts on both week days and weekends. Your earliest start time will be 8am and your latest finish time will be 6pm. You will also be required to work public/bank holidays on a rota basis.

ABOUT THE ROLE

A Lifeguard is the main point of contact for our guests in the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. You will demonstrate just the right mix of welcoming our guests in a positive, friendly manner and ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety necessary in the pool environment. As the face of Center Parcs you will make a great lasting impression on our guests, impressing them with your professionalism and guest care skills.

You will be a friendly, naturally helpful and vigilant team member who naturally seeks out opportunities to ensure the guests' requirements are met. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards within the Subtropical Swimming Paradise and ensure that all company and legal requirements are met at all times.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to apply for disclosure with the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB). This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.

HOURS OF WORK

You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4 week period, on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week but you will always receive your contracted hours each period.

As our Village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends and public/bank holidays on a rota basis.

ABOUT YOU

Essential requirements:

-A valid NPLQ – National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
-Candidates must be able to swim 50 metres in 55 seconds to progress to interview stage

Desirable requirements:

The ideal candidate will be qualified or have experience of the following:

-First Aid Certificate
-Experience in Pool Plant Operation
-Use of a Defibrillator

Deputy Leisure Services Manager

With up to 200 indoor and outdoor activities on offer across the village, our Leisure Services division is core to our customer proposition and key to helping us deliver a quality experience that keeps our guests returning, again and again. Reporting to, deputising for and working closely with the Leisure Services Manager, you’ll support every aspect involved with the commercial management and day to day operational activities of the division, ensuring we provide our guests with great memories, whatever their age or abilities. With a focus on excellence in service delivery, the achievement of financial targets and the development of business opportunities (and colleagues alike), you’ll also agree and enjoy specific responsibilities that will underpin and help fulfil wider divisional targets and objectives.

As you can imagine, this is a key leadership role, requiring a Leisure Industry professional with at least three years relevant experience in a similar operational management capacity, who has a proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team. Already an excellent communicator, relationship builder and organiser, you should also have a fair degree of commercial know-how, including a good grasp of budgetary and financial controls. In addition, a leisure management qualification or willingness to work towards one, would be welcome.

An opportunity has arisen for a Chef Team Member to join our passionate kitchen team with opportunities to grow and progress within our extensive Food & Beverage department spreading across 11 sites across the South East. The role will be based at Bromley Golf Centre.

The Roles

-To provide, manage and develop a high-quality catering service;
-To maintain effective control of Food & Beverage services and budgets within the required margins;
-Comply with set menus which reflect Mytime’s standard of using fresh, high quality and seasonal products;
-Prepare, cook and present all meals attractively. The majority of dishes will be made in-house;
-Responsible for food delivery and presentation;
-Ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained in the kitchen;
-Keep stock secure at all times, storing foodstuffs appropriately and maintain accurate records. Avoid unnecessary wastage and deterioration of foodstuffs;
-Manage catering staff to ensure a professional safe, clean and efficient kitchen operation. Ensure that all staff are trained in food handling and preparation, the use of all equipment, personal hygiene, serving, food storage and in keeping the required Mytime records;
-Ensure equipment is used appropriately and for its designed use. Report any equipment defects and withdraw from use immediately;
-Comply with Mytime policies in terms of Food Safety and Health & Safety, completing and storing all records as outlined in the Quality Management System;
-Maintain good working relationships with colleagues at all times;
-Attend and participate in training sessions and meetings as and when required;
-To carry out all duties with regard to Health & Safety requirements and regulations according to the Health & Safety Policy

Mytime Active Leisure is predominantly in the London borough of Bromley, we invest in our local communities to improve their access to quality health and fitness services.

The Role

Within this role, you will play a key part to ensure the comfort and safety of all users of the Leisure facilities and to provide excellent customer care.

You will be working as part of a team responsible as a lifeguard for the pool and pool area, with cleaning and general maintenance of equipment.

We would prefer that you hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, but strong swimmers will be considered and NPLQ training provided. (Continued employment will be subject to satisfactory completion of the NPLQ and a swimming skills test will be conducted prior to an interview.)

A First Aid qualification is also desirable but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate. Opportunities to further develop in this role with training in Pool Plant Operator and Swimming Instructor.

You should have experience of upholding excellent cleaning standards in a multi-use facility.

Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

Motivated to serve the public.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
