At Sandown Sports, it is the people that make us stand out. We are looking for a duty manager who is a happy, warm, positive person with a genuine desire to work with others and most importantly enjoy a fast paced environment. Sandown Sports is a gym and fitness club with squash, indoor cycling, a dry ski slope and a recently opened tree top adventure course.

As a Duty Manager, you will be working 42.5 hours per week, including weekends and evenings so flexibility is key. The club is open from 0600 to 2300 during the week so you will be sharing a rota with other duty managers. We also host functions that will require additional assistance with organisation and working hours.

Sandown Sports has recently been taken over and there is much improvement to the facilities already completed, underway and planned for the future. The atmosphere is vibrant with excellent career prospects. Whilst this is maternity cover there is a real likelihood the right candidate would continue to work for us past the cover date.

You will report to the Club Manager and your day will involve day-to-day management of the facility, taking responsibility at key times, customer care, managing bookings etc. We are looking for people with experience and a good knowledge of the sports and leisure industry and/or events, functions and catering.

The First Aid at Work qualification is preferable and this position is subject to a DBS check.

The position is offered at £18,785 per annum (pro rata for maternity cover). Perks include free membership and access to all our sports facilities when off shift.

There is one position available, based in Poynton Leisure Centre. The role will involve traveling; therefore method of suitable transport is essential for the successful candidate.

This role will support our Aquatics Manager and General Area Managers in increasing revenue through improved quality of our aquatic products, whilst ensuring all lessons adhere to the agreed Everybody Sport & Recreation standards.

The successful candidate is expected to have experience within the sailing industry and run events ideally both within and outside of the UK.

As a full-time Recreation Assistant you will be responsible for the safety and enjoyment of our customers within the facilities. Energy and enthusiasm is a must for this role as you will be promoting our philosophy of Quality, Care and Excellence in the service you provide.

A current NPLQ qualification is essential. A relevant NVQ Level 2, First Aid at Work or any recognised coaching qualification would be advantageous.

We currently provide a structured, dynamic exercise programme which varies in terms of class/day/activity in order to satisfy as many different needs of our customers.

About the role
You’ll be responsible for teaching safe, fun, and effective exercise classes, consistent with standards set out within our normal operating procedures.

As Class Instructor, you will maintain excellent customer focus at all times, meeting customer expectations and therefore ensuring repeat business. This will include being available to the customers both before and after the sessions to answer queries, motivate and guide.

The basic rate of pay for this position is £11.74 per hour pro rata. In addition, there are supplements and incentive payments available. Full details will be given at interview.

All of the above may also be eligible for unsocial hours supplements if during late evenings or with Sunday working. Holiday and sickness pay is also included for this position as is a generous pension scheme.

About you
You should possess a valid qualification in specialist activity recognised by the governing professional body or specific group fitness class qualifications such as Zumba, Studio Cycling, Circuits, Pilates, Yoga or Aquafit as well as a Les Mills BTS.

Excellent communication skills are key to the success of this role, along with the experience of customer care within a Leisure environment.
