Qualified tutors (minimum Award in Education and Training or equivalent) and qualified assessors (Award in Assessing or equivalent) across a number of disciplines and locations are required.  We may also consider applicants who do not yet hold training and assessment qualifications, depending on skills and experience.  It’s important to note that these roles are weekend focused and can fit around existing work commitments.

The Fitness team are a large, friendly team responsible for looking after the members and their guests with regards to the indoor sports facilities; Racquet and Fitness Centres, Dance Studio, Gym, Indoor Pool, Squash, Treatment room, Crèche as well as the Outdoor Pool in the summer months along with some seasonal outdoor sports activities.

As a Lifeguard, you will work a 37.5 hour week, which will include evenings and weekends. Whether you work at the Outdoor Pool or at the Indoor Pool in the Fitness Centre you will be required to act as a professional lifeguard on poolside and carry out cleaning duties whilst off poolside.

As well as performing these duties whilst you are at the Outdoor Pool, you will also help cover reception where you will be required to deal with members and their guests both face-to-face and over the phone. You will also be expected to help ensure the reception area including the shop is clean and presentable and that shop sales are processed correctly. Whilst you are up at the Fitness Centre you will be required to do setups in the Dance Studio, help the supervisors as and when required and will assist in keeping Fitness Centre areas clean and tidy.

Candidates with a current Lifeguard qualification are strongly preferred; however, we will consider candidates without. Previous experience as a Lifeguard / Pool Attendant is desirable but not essential; you will need to have exceptional customer service skills and be confident whilst staying calm in all circumstances. Additionally, some reception experience would be preferable for those wishing to work at the Outdoor Pool and you will need to be computer literate.

Qualifications: NPLQ (strongly preferred and desirable but will consider candidates without)

We can offer a free Level 2 qualification teaching Courses for those that are currently Level 1 and would like to further their career within the swim school these are run three times a year.

Qualifications and Skills

· Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (ASA/Swim England or equivalent).
· Hold a lifeguard qualification or National Rescue Test award (or be willing to gain this within 3 months).

About the role

Due to internal promotion, we are now looking an enthusiastic and responsible person to join our Recreation Assistant team. Within this role you will play a key part to ensure the comfort and safety of all users of the facility and to provide excellent customer care so that our customers have the best possible experience. Requirements

- A First Aid qualification is also desirable but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.
- You should have experience of upholding excellent cleaning standards in a multi use facility.

Windsor Leisure Centre boasts a 25 metre, 6 lane Swimming Pool, Leisure Pool, 150 station ‘Expressions’ Fitness Gym, 3 group fitness studios, 8 court Sports Hall, cafe, All weather pitch & other indoor facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop within the leisure industry.

Reporting to the Duty Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care and leading a large team of staff. The post includes evenings and weekend working over 40 hours per week. Each Trainee Duty Manager post is subject to its own agreed responsibilities.

An NPLQ and First Aid at Work certificate are essential and Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable as well as a recognised Leisure Management qualification.

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry and experience of working in a busy wet/dry facility. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to customer service are essential. Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

Are you an experienced Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) looking for the next step in your career? If so, this could be the opportunity for you. GLL is recruiting a Senior Recreation Assistant to work at Abbey Leisure Complex in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

Whilst on shift, you’ll oversee a team of lifeguards, who you’ll act as a mentor and role model to be responsible for some staff training. You’ll have real attention to detail as you’ll be ensuring the safety of our customers as well as the cleanliness of the pool environment. You’ll be responsible for regular cleaning, maintenance and preparation of areas and equipment as appropriate, so you’ll need to be hard working and have a conscientious attitude. Excellent communication and social skills are necessary as you’ll often be the first point of contact for customers. Health and safety is paramount therefore attendance at regular pool training sessions is a must.

Ideally, you’ll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up to date NPLQ training records and a First Aid certificate. It is desirable that you also have a Pool Plant Operators qualification.

Salary: Up to £20,000 Per Annum

We are looking to recruit a Duty Manager at Crook Log Leisure Centre, which is a very busy leisure centre within the Bexley Contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for a supervisory management position within the leisure industry.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of the centre including health and safety, customer care and leading and managing staff. The ability to lead and motivate a team, along with an NPLQ is essential. A First Aid at Work certificate and Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable as well as a recognised Leisure Management qualification.

Job description:
Chalfont Leisure Centre in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire is looking for a Recreation / Leisure Assistant Apprentice. If you love sport, fitness and exercise, this apprenticeship could help you build a career out of your passion.

The Recreation / Leisure Assistant Apprenticeship is a hands-on and active role. You could be doing anything from Lifeguarding a pool to setting up a sports hall for a badminton or football session. Whatever you're doing though, rest assured you'll have all the support of a big, friendly team behind you as well as proper training to give you the confidence and knowledge to do your job well.

You'll need to:
- Be a strong swimmer - you'll have to do a timed swim test before you start
- Be friendly - you'll be helping lots of our customers
- Be hard-working - our leisure centres open weekends and early mornings (don't worry, you won't have to do them all the time!)
- Enjoy learning - we'll train you to get qualifications including a Level 2 NVQ in Leisure Operations and your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
