About the Employer
Hertsmere Leisure, established to provide and promote community sport, recreational and arts services, manages a number of facilities owned by Hertsmere Borough Council, Hertfordshire County Council, Three Rivers District Council, Milton Keynes Council and a health & fitness club in Ealing/Southall. It is also the Lead Agency selected by Hertfordshire County Council to develop 19 Children’s Centres in Hertfordshire.

Bletchley Leisure Centre in Milton Keynes offers a fully equipped gym, pool, squash courts, indoors bowls rinks along with a range of classes and lessons for all ages and ablilities.

Traineeship opportunities

With the right aptitude and attitude, a successful Trainee will receive a sound understanding of, and training in a number of areas that will directly benefit them within any aspect of leisure. The program will also offer experiences within a variety of departments that will help support a career path of either operations, fitness or swimming coaching.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Shadowing various roles including catering, front of house, wet and dry side activities.
- Meeting and greeting of facility users
- Integral part of the site team where opinions will be sought within meetings and other channels of communication to enhance process and customer experience
- Opportunity to practice specific new skills learned within training.
- Swim Instruction Pathway

In support of the training traineeship includes the following fully funded training:

- Food Hygiene Certificate
- First Aid
- Customer Care
- Safeguarding
- Basic Health and Fitness
- NPLQ (Optional)
- Swimming Teaching
