High Lodge, Thetford Forest is a key priority recreational facility. Sitting on the Suffolk/Norfolk border, this successful visitor attraction draws around 450,000 visitors every year. As an area of true natural beauty, High Lodge combines progressive and challenging cycling and walking trails,, while our more daring visitors enjoy adventurous pursuits such as Go-Ape Tree Top Adventure and Forest Segway, in which visitors can explore the Forest on an all-terrain Segway!

You will be central to the success of this exciting attraction, overseeing the day-to-day running of High Lodge and identifying new opportunities for income generation and business growth, while seeking to build and maintain a loyal visitor-base. Managing the Forest Centre team (which includes both permanent members of staff and contractual/seasonal employees), you will ensure our facilities and services are meeting the highest standards, and that the annual programme of events that you have planned is successful. Working with third-party businesses such as cycle hire and the onsite café, you will monitor performance and work in partnership to support business development. Ensuring our facilities (such as buildings, play areas and trails) are regularly inspected and maintained, you will put customer satisfaction and safety at the heart of your work.

As we will expect you to work collaboratively with both private and public service organisations, this position would be well-suited to someone with outstanding communication and partnership-building skills. Qualified to degree-standard (or equivalent) and with a background in managing facilities and events in the outdoor recreation environment, you will have a good understanding of relevant health and safety standards. DUTY MANAGER
Site: Breckland Leisure Centre, Thetford
Salary From £18,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Breckland Waterworld and Leisure Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking for a supervisory management position within the leisure industry.

We are currently looking for a full time Duty Manager. You will be professional, reliable, possess good communication skills, and enjoy working as part of a team.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, this key role will involve the day to day management of the facility, including Health and Safety, customer care, and managing staff within a busy centre delivering a wide range of activities.

The successful candidate must hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, whilst a Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable. Previous supervisory experience within a similar role would also be advantageous.

The position will require flexible working hours including early, late, and weekend shifts and subject to completion of a DBS disclosure

Breckland Leisure Centre

We are currently looking for additional swimming instructors to promote our swim school, deliver engaging swimming lessons to all ages and abilities, and provide exceptional customer service standards.

Our swimming schemes are based on the Swim England National Plan for Swimming and it is essential to hold a Level 1 swim teaching qualification or equivalent. A Level 2 swim teaching qualification, along with a current NPLQ or National Rescue Award for Teachers & Coaches is also desirable, although full training will be provided if required.

You will need to be flexible, reliable and able to work various hours. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals who can succeed with maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our customers and colleagues.

Current cover includes Monday to Friday, 4 - 6pm and Saturdays 9am - 12 noon.

All positions are subject to a DBS Disclosure.
