YMCA Fylde Coast is a leading sport and physical activity provider across the North West region, whose mission is to change and enhance lives within the communities we work. We are seeking a highly motivated Coaching Professional to enhance the delivery of our ‘Your Move’ Community Sports and Physical Activity Sessions.

The main focus of the role will be to assist the ‘Your Move’ Programme, developing new and existing opportunities for participation in sport and physical activity in a wide range of community settings involving direct work with public and private sector delivery partners, with the aim of sustaining provision and growing participation in the Fylde and Wyre area.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in developing a programme of activities that promotes participation in sport and physical activity, targeting those who do not currently take part in regular sporting activity.
- Assist in overseeing all aspects of the planning and delivery of the ‘Your Move’ project, including leading and attending sports sessions. Deliver sport sessions and work with local sports clubs and specialist coaches to offer a broad range of community sporting activities over a seven day period.
- Continually consult with participants on physical activity and sports delivery, identifying, responding and adapting service delivery.
- Seek to develop a network of community volunteers in partnership with County Sports Partnership and National Governing Bodies of Sport.
- Work in partnership with other Sport Activators to ensure a comprehensive, effective and co-ordinated programme of community sport activities in the Fylde and Wyre Area.

You should possess previous experience of working within the field of sport and/or physical activity. Excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.

- Effective budget management, ensuring best value at all times
- Performance management and development of a team of healthy lifestyle specialists
- Maintain and develop partnerships with commissioners, external agencies and delivery partners
- Monitor, evaluate and report performance externally and internally
- Promote all programmes effectively, ensuring high brand awareness
- Continue to champion an interactive service through social media, website and communication software
- Assess, review and identify new funding and business opportunities
- Support and contribute to the overall development of the Physical Activity Directorate

You should possess at least two years’ experience of working on commissioned healthy lifestyle programmes and have experience of performance management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a team of employees are also essential.

Head Sports Coach - Part of the ‘Your Move’ Physical Activity Team
Initial 12 month fixed term contract

You will need exceptional face-to-face communication skills and an enthusiasm to work with children, teenagers and adults as and when required. You will be able to work on your own initiative plus lead and develop a team of part-time coaches. Experience of partnership working within the education sector and National Governing Bodies of Sport is essential to the role, as is the ability to successful seek out and apply for external grant aid opportunities.

- Take the lead on all aspects of Health and Safety and Child Protection in relation to the service.
- Ensure all activities are structured in advance and staff managed to provide excellence.
- Pro-actively seek out funding and partnership opportunities to sustain the sports development programme.

You should possess at least two years’ experience of working in a Coaching/Sports Development environment. Excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.

The main duties to include: ~
- Undertake client consultations and identify appropriate physical activity opportunities.
- Deliver weight management sessions.
- Deliver a range of physical activity group based classes to a range of different clients.
- Provide health assessments to clients on adult referral programmes.
- Work with local GP practices/health professionals to promote the ‘Your Move’ Programmes and keep referring partners informed of scheme developments.
- Utilise motivational interview techniques to maximise adherence rates.
- Explore innovative, accessible new ways of delivering physical activity opportunities.
- Contribute to the production of Key Performance Indicator data through tracking, recording and monitoring client usage.
- Represent the ‘Your Move’ Team in partnership meetings.
- Assisting with the promotion of Fylde Coast YMCA health and physical activity programmes.

You should possess at least two years’ experience of working within the field of health and physical activity. Excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.

Fylde Coast YMCA is seeking a highly motivated people person to help support the delivery of both adult and children physical activity and weight management programmes in Fylde and Wyre.

The main focus of the role is to support the ‘Your Move’ Team in providing a positive customer experience for clients and excellent referral pathways for partners and health professionals. Core duties and responsibilities of the role include:

- Be the first point of contact for signposting and screening clients onto appropriate ‘Your Move’ Programmes
- Process general enquiries and customer feedback utilising software systems, face to face or via telephone
- Tracking and supplying monitoring and evaluation information for the formation of reports
- Assisting with the promotion of Fylde Coast YMCA health and physical activity programmes
- Managing the booking procedures of referral appointments across Fylde and Wyre.

You should possess at least one year experience of working within a service provision environment and should have the ability to work effectively as part of a team across different programmes. You should also have a keen interest in physical activity as there is the potential for personal development within the ‘Your Move’ Team. Good communication and organisational skills are also required.
