Entry into the fitness industry can be tough and expensive, many wanting to gain entry spend thousands on qualifications but lack experience.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our team as an apprentice in fitness, your training in fitness will be paid for as part of the role.

As an apprentice within our gym, you will develop your fitness skills and experience, you will be encouraged to participate in group fitness sessions and build up to running your own classes. Training will accompany your own apprenticeship specific learning to enable you to deliver our award winning empower support program, design personal programs for clients and advise them on healthy lifestyle options.

In addition you will also provide high levels of customer service to all clients and prospects, there will be a requirement for you to be involved in all aspects of gym operations including maintenance, health & safety, lead generation, prospecting and operation of the reception.

Applicants who can demonstrate their passion for health and fitness are welcome to apply. We will be employing a candidate with exceptional levels of communication skills. It is expected that you have the ability to work within the team, to be independent in your daily tasks and to use your initiative when it comes to club operations and member experience. At all times an apprentice will be expected to behave in a professional manner and a member of the team.

Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths grade C and above and be actively engaged in fitness themselves. It will be expected that applicants will work in club and on location.

Reporting to the Senior Duty Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care and leading and managing the recreation staff. The post includes evenings and weekends working 40 hours per week.

This key role will report to the Senior Duty Manager and will involve the day to day management of the facility, taking full responsibility of the centre at key times to include health and safety, customer service and managing staff. An NPLQ is essential, and First Aid at Work certificate, Pool Plant Operators qualification and fitness qualification are desirable as well as a recognised Leisure Management qualification.

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to customer service are essential.

An exciting opportunity exists at Windsor Leisure Centre for a ambitious and motivated Trainee Duty Manager position. Windsor Leisure Centre has a 25 metre, 6 lane Swimming Pool, Leisure Pool, 150 station ‘Expressions’ Fitness Gym, 3 group fitness studios, 8 court Sports Hall, cafe, All weather Pitch & other indoor facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop within the leisure industry.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care and leading a large team of staff. The post includes evenings and weekend working over 40 hours per week. Each Trainee Duty Manager post is subject to its own agreed responsibilities.

An NPLQ and First Aid at Work certificate are essential and Pool Plant Operators qualification and a recognised Leisure Management qualification is desirable .

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry and experience of working in a busy wet/dry facility. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to customer service are essential. Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace, South East London is looking for Recreation Assistants Apprentice. If you love sport, fitness and exercise, this apprenticeship could help you build a career out of your passion.

The Recreation / Leisure Assistant Apprenticeship is a hands-on and active role. You could be doing anything from Lifeguarding a pool to setting up a sports hall for a badminton or football session. Whatever you're doing though, rest assured you'll have all the support of a big, friendly team behind you as well as proper training to give you the confidence and knowledge to do your job well.

You'll need to:
- Be a strong swimmer - you'll have to do a timed swim test before you start
- Be friendly - you'll be helping lots of our customers
- Be hard-working - our leisure centres open weekends and early mornings (don't worry, you won't have to do them all the time!)
- Enjoy learning - we'll train you to get qualifications including a Level 2 NVQ in Leisure Operations and your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
