We are looking for an independent a qualified consultant to help us analyse the activity of our gym as per the flowing scope of intervention:

Overview / Purpose of Role

  The consultant will help the management team to review critically the existing developments that STARSGYM has achieved so far:

- Present membership
- STAFF structure
- Gym facilities
- Gym activity

From that review, the consultant will help its directors to refine their strategy in terms of daily management and strategic development.

The review will focus more particularly on the following aspects:

Revenues

- Analysis of membership management
- structure, personal trainers contribution, sales of products, rental income
- Assessment of members turnover (joiners vs leavers)
- Assessment of tariff structures (membership fees, day pass class, PT offers,…)

The performance of the gym will be assessed against existing benchmarks representing the London Gym industry

Organisational:

- Analysis of the organigram of the Gym, job descriptions
- Marketing
- Review of website
- Analysis of marketing and advertising policy
- Daily class timetable
- Customer satisfaction follow up
- Promotional merchandise

Cost control:

- Analysis of general overheads with a view to identifying items which could be compressed (insurance, gym equipment hire, review, staff salaries … )

General management:

- Personal trainers management, recruitment of instructors

Knowledge and experience  required by the consultant:

- The consultant must have confirmed knowledge of the London Gym industry in terms of management, customer trend and marketing strategy.
- Previous experience in leisure/health and fitness facility/ customer focused environment.
- Previous people and operations management experience.

- Are available to work some evenings and weekends

About the role:
* To provide, manage and develop a high quality catering service.
* To operate a professional, safe and cost effective catering service within the Company's operational standards, complying with all statutory requirements.
The successful cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting all meals attractively; the majority of dishes will be made in-house.

In addition to producing a consistent standard of quality food in a busy kitchen environment you will be expected to keep stock secure at all times, storing foodstuffs appropriately and maintain accurate records.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential as is a working knowing of the health and safety/ food and hygiene guidelines is expected of all of our cooks.

Essential requirements:
* Food Safety Certificate Level 2 / 3 or equivalent
* Previous experience of running a busy kitchen environment, managing GP's, overseeing a team of chefs
* Knowledge of current F&B best practice

About the role

Due to internal promotion, we are now looking an enthusiastic and responsible person to join our Recreation Assistant team. Within this role you will play a key part to ensure the comfort and safety of all users of the facility and to provide excellent customer care so that our customers have the best possible experience. You will be working as part of a team responsible for the pool safety, cleaning around the centre and setting up of equipment.

You will be required to work across our entire suite of leisure sites this includes:

- The Spa at Beckenham
- The Pavilion
- Walnuts Leisure Centre
- Biggin Hill Library and Pool
- Darrick Wood Swimming Pool
- West Wickham Leisure Centre

Requirements

- We would prefer that you hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, but strong swimmers will be considered and NPLQ training provided. (Continued employment will be subject to satisfactory completion of the NPLQ and a swimming skills test will be conducted as a part of the interview.)
- A First Aid qualification is also desirable but not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.
- You should have experience of upholding excellent cleaning standards in a multi use facility.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Motivated to serve the public.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

We don't believe in charging our PT’s extortionate rent each month, meaning you receive 100% of all the personal training income that you generate and there is no limit on the amount of personal training sessions you can do. Instead we ask that you give 15 hours a week back working on the gym floor split in to three 5 hour shifts. In your 15 hours you will be interacting with members face to face which is a great opportunity to generate more clients. Your roles will include maintaining the gym floor, teaching classes, putting together training programs, inductions and gym tours.

Activity Leadership Apprenticeship

What will the role involve?

The Activity Leadership (Multi Skilled Diploma) Apprenticeship, can be your first step to a career in the Leisure Industry, as an Activity Leader.

This apprenticeship will give you a nationally recognised qualification in a range of different leisure roles, in order to become an integral part of the leisure team.

Across the 12 month apprenticeship you will gain a:

As part of your apprenticeship, you will work within a fully operational Leisure Facility gaining the skills required to safely operate in all areas. You will be required to complete your apprenticeship qualification in line with your working hours and link into your working practices to demonstrate the competencies you have gained, across all certificates.

Swim Test

If you are invited to interview for this role you will be required to complete a swim test as part of the interview process, in order to be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate you are able to do the following.

• Jump/dive into deep water
• Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
• Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water and then tread water for 30 seconds
• Surface dive to floor of pool (deepest part)
• Climb out unaided without ladders/steps and where pool design permits
