Duty Manager

You will take responsibility for delivering an excellent product and achieving commercial targets.

You will take genuine ownership for all aspects of the operation when you are on shift.

This is an exciting and varied role which will provide exposure to all aspects of running a gym.

You must be customer focused and have a passion for high standards.

A REP’s Level 2 gym instructor qualification is essential.

Windsor Leisure Centre
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Duty Manager looking to develop their career at a high performing leisure centre. Windsor Leisure Centre is a flagship site with a 25 metre, 6 lane swimming pool, large family leisure pool with waves, 150 station ‘Expressions’ Gym, Health suite, group fitness studios, conference rooms, retail outlets, 8 court Sports Hall, cafe, All weather pitch & other indoor facilities.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for delivering customer excellence. The candidate responsible for day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care, financial procedures and leading and managing multiple departments. The post includes evenings and weekend, working over 40 hours per week. Each Duty Manager post is subject to its own agreed responsibilities.

An NPLQ or First Aid at Work certificate is essential and Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable as well as a recognised Leisure Management qualification.

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry and a good level of experience of working in a very busy wet/dry facility. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a total commitment to customer service are essential. Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

Legacy Leisure is looking for a enthusiastic Duty Manager to join their team at Llantwit Major Leisure Centre. This key role will report to the Centre Manager and will involve the day-to-day management of the facility, taking full responsibility of the centre at key times to include Health and Safety, customer care and managing staff. The post holder will take a lead role in developing and promoting an exciting and innovative leisure programme to increase the usage and profitability of the centre.

The ability to lead and motivate a team is essential. An NPLQ qualification is essential, along with a First Aid at Work certificate. A Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable along with a recognised Leisure Management qualification, or equivalent vocational qualification.

The working hours will be based on a shift pattern.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, be able to demonstrate problem solving attributes and be able to think on their feet. You will be able to manage a team and ensure the sound operation and safety of your team and customers during your duty shift. You will be delegated specific areas of responsibility for which you will be accountable.
