Woodrow High House Sports Centre is a purpose-built facility that includes a swimming pool, a sports hall and a 3G AstroTurf pitch. The swimming pool is used by visitors to the residential centre, as well as the local community including around 900 plus young people who learn to swim with us weekly.

The indoor sports hall and AstroTurf pitch facilities are also used by visitors to the residential centre and also people from the local community.

The Sports Centre Manager is responsible for leading and managing the operational team in the centre, ensuring a high quality and safe experience is had by all who visit.

As the Sports Centre Manager, we expect you to come with experience of having worked in an operational management capacity, as well as having been a proficient swimming teacher, where you will be able to hit the ground running to provide this essential maternity cover.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong commitment towards ensuring excellence in customer service and enhancing the customer experience. You will be an all-rounder who is responsible for securing income targets for the Sports Centre, feed into the creation of the annual plan and budget, and will lead on delivering the agreed level of performance and the objectives set for the team.

This role is maternity cover, available from November 2017 for six to nine months.

Are you an experienced Recreation Assistant (Lifeguard) looking for the next step in your career? If so, this could be the opportunity for you. GLL is recruiting a Senior Recreation Assistant to work at Thame Leisure Centre in Thame, Oxfordshire.

Whilst on shift, you'll oversee a team of lifeguards, who you'll act as a mentor and role model to be responsible for some staff training. You'll have real attention to detail as you'll be ensuring the safety of our customers as well as the cleanliness of the pool environment. You'll be responsible for regular cleaning, maintenance and preparation of areas and equipment as appropriate, so you'll need to be hard working and have a conscientious attitude. Excellent communication and social skills are necessary as you'll often be the first point of contact for customers. Health and safety is paramount therefore attendance at regular pool training sessions is a must.

Ideally, you'll have your National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) with up to date NPLQ training records and a First Aid certificate. It is desirable that you also have a Pool Plant Operators qualification.

Reporting to the Senior Duty Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day to day operation of the centre including health and safety, customer care and leading and managing the recreation staff. The post includes evenings and weekends working 40 hours per week.

This key role will report to the Senior Duty Manager and will involve the day to day management of the facility, taking full responsibility of the centre at key times to include health and safety, customer service and managing staff. The Role:
We're on the hunt for ASA Level 1 or 2 Qualified Swim Instructors to join our swim school. We run our swim scheme 7 days a week and availability at weekends is essential.

Our program offers a diversity of teaching opportunities from Parent and Baby right through to Water Aquatics and Adults.

You will be responsible for delivering group and individual swim lessons under the supervision of the Swim Lesson Manager. You will be passionate about swimming and willing to go the extra mile to help our customers reach their goals.
