Maintenance Manager

South Northamptonshire and North Oxfordshire
Salary: c.£25,000 per annum
40hrs per week (permanent)

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Maintenance Manager to join our team. Based at Towcester Centre for Leisure, you will be covering 2 leisure centres in Towcester and Brackley as well as 2 sports pavilions in Bicester and Kidlington.

You will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the plant rooms and general buildings, as well as take responsibility for all contractors on site. You will carry out essential maintenance and manage the larger items with our chosen contractors.

We are looking for a proactive, well organised individual to ensure the contracts preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to at all times and statutory compliance items are completed in a timely manner.

You will provide support and advice to the Centre Managers and Senior Management team to ensure the buildings and equipment are well maintained and compliant at all times. Ability to travel between sites is essential and access to a works vehicle will be provided.

The following are essential:
Full UK Driving Licence
Qualified to 17th edition electrical certification

It is desirable that you hold the following qualifications:
National Pool Plant operators Certificate
Working from Heights certificate

You need to be passionate about health & fitness and customer service. We are looking for someone who can motivate and lead a staff team and communicate with our customers to help them achieve their goals.

Towcester Leisure Centre is operated by Legacy Leisure on behalf of South Northants District Council and is situated in Northamptonshire. This busy site comprises of a 4 Court Sports Hall, 25mtr Swimming Pool and a Leisure Pool with a Flume and Wave machine. As well as an all weather pitch, a 80 station fitness centre, a studio and Cafe facilities.

All employees benefit from complimentary usage of the facilities as part of their employment.

We are currently looking for a full-time Duty Manager. You will be flexible, reliable, possess exceptional communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

The successful candidate when working as a Duty Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the centre, carrying out set up’s, cashing up tills and maintaining the cleaning standards. You will also be expected to carry out lifeguard duties.

Each Duty Manager will also be given an area of the business to develop and manage in order to prepare for career progression.

You will work 40 hours a week (shift work including evenings and weekends.)

Previous experience in managing staff in a leisure environment would be beneficial and an NPLQ and FAW qualification would be desirable, however training will be provided.

Skills required:

Responsible for conducting and developing programmes and swim lesson plans for swimming stages of all levels.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures and deal with patron's questions and concerns regarding swimming lessons.

Proficient in the four fundamental strokes and a good understanding of water safety.

Strong communication towards parents / children and co-workers.

Evaluate student performance, accomplishments and maintain records of performance and attendance.

Prepare and organise equipment, supplies and general cleaning tasks.

Ability to adapt to the skill level of each swimmer's needs.

Essential Qualifications:

Level 2 Swim England qualifications required.
