The facility accommodates a modest catering option and the Centre Manager must have experience in planning, administering and supervising a catering operation.

You must be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. You will also have experience of manipulating data collection systems, people management, and a working knowledge of facility management including health and safety requirements.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate team working skills and the ability to work both unsupervised and under their own initiative. The successful candidate must be willing to work at weekends and evenings within a rota.

Working with the Duty Managers, the successful candidate will help to oversee the day to day operation and management of the operational team. This will include providing hands on support to individual departments at peak times to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the facility. This role will involve mornings, evenings and weekend rota’d shifts.

To achieve this, the Centre will fully commit to providing comprehensive training to the successful candidate. This will include a range of industry accredited courses such as a Pool Plant Operators Course, First Aid at Work Qualification and Level 2 Food Hygiene. This will be supported through extensive internal training.

The role is considered as a stepping stone to a Duty Management position.

The facility can be found in Kidlington, North Oxfordshire and boasts a sports pavilion, two cricket grounds, three rugby pitches, a football pitch and the largest area of public open space in the village.

This key role will report to the Centre Manager and will involve the day-to-day management of the facility, taking full responsibility of the facility at key times to include Health and Safety, customer care and managing bookings. KAL are looking for a Tennis Development Manager to manage and deliver the community and commercial Tennis programme for KAL.

As well as designing, implementing and managing the programme, the role will be responsible for maximising participation and commercial performance.

You will manage a team of coaches delivering safe, fun and progressive Tennis activity sessions to our customers, making sure that they have a great experience and with a focus on retention.

You will work closely with key partners to ensure a co-ordinated and joined up approach to achieve the successful delivery of the Tennis development plan.

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic individual looking to progress their career into management. You will oversee the centre operation and support the management team and in addition, you’ll be involved in the numerous activities and programmes on offer.

As a Duty Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the centre, and will be trained to demonstrate full competence in the following areas; financial reporting, processes and procedures, HR policies and procedures, operational monitoring, facilities management and maintenance, and customer service, sales and marketing. You will also be expected to carry out lifeguarding duties.

You will need to be passionate about health, fitness and delivering excellent customer service. Previous experience in managing staff in a leisure environment and knowledge of the fitness, leisure or health industries is advantageous. Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a degree in Sports or similar and a First Aid at Work qualification is desirable, however, training will be provided.

General Manager

- Must have a proven track record in driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity as well as of recruiting and managing a successful team
- Ideally will have experience as a General Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or have substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational function
- Ideally will be REPS level 2 or higher qualified or be prepared to qualify
