Image: Andrew Altman is to leave the LLDC

Andrew Altman has announced he is to step down as chief executive of the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) following the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

During his time at LLDC and its former incarnation as the Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC), Altman was responsible for guiding the park's redevelopment after the Games.

Among his achievements as LLDC and OPLC chief executive has been the appointment of post-Games operators for venues such as the Aquatics Centre and the Multi-Use Arena.

Altman said: "It has been a tremendous honour to lead this once-in-a-lifetime project that will transform the face of London and will be a spectacular example of city-building the world over."
