Children First Clubs are planning four new sites in central London and the South East.

Managing director Andy Baker says a concept of being situated next to health and fitness operators, leisure destinations and the childcare market has been in the development stage for 12 months. Mace has now been appointed as project leader with JHCD Architects and Zynk Design.

'We have been working with Mace, HCD and Zynk over the last six months as the leisure industry has never seen a 20,000sq ft facility solely for children. Our generic footprint offers a real ethos of healthy children coupled with childcare solutions for parents.'

Other specialist operators involved in design, programming and operation include Swimming Nature, Crechendo, Kompan, Mini Kin, Triyoga, Premier Football, Instyle, Blakedown, Crown Fitness and HCB Associates.

Children's health specialist Rachel Woodward and creative arts consultant Kirsten Weinstein have been recruited from Australia and the USA. Rachel Woodward says: We need the best operators and consultants in the market to work with us under one roof.'

'Not only will this produce commercially driven programmes that children want, it will solve the family dilemma of driving their children around during after-school, weekends and holiday periods.' Details: e-mail [email protected]
