Doncaster Dome has been recognised with the Best Sports and Leisure Facility Management award in the Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE) Performance Networks Awards in Blackpool.

Chief executive of Doncaster Dome Leisure Trust, Gavin Baldwin, said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have won the Best Sports and Leisure Facility Management award.

"The awards act as a national benchmark for leisure centres up and down the country and they are an important yardstick for judging and maintaining industry standards.

"It's a testament to the skills, dedication and hard work of the entire team at the Dome that we've been able to maintain the incredibly high standards that we're continually striving to reach.”

The Dome also took the Fitness Industry Association’s (FIA) Spirit of FLAME award last year and won the Health and Safety Award and the Commitment to Social Responsibility Award at the Doncaster Chamber of Commerce Business Awards as well as being named runner up in the Business of the Year category.

Over Christmas, the Dome has benefited from a refurbishment of the Oasis Health Suite, which has seen new cubicles, showers and furniture installed. Details: www.the-dome.co.uk
