Fitness instructor championships to be held at Bath
The first ever WorldSkills UK National Fitness Instructor Championships will be held at the University of Bath on the 7-8 June 2008.
Supported by the Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT), is aiming to offer individuals and businesses the opportunity to showcase expertise and skills at a national level, while competing against peers for the chance to be crowned the UK gold winner.
The WorldSkills UK competitions are free to enter, and will test participants in over 70 skill areas, now including the fitness sector. The National Fitness Instructor Championships aim to encourage improvement and raised attainment in vocational education and training.
Peter Wren, VTCT chief executive stated: “VTCT acknowledges the WorldSkills UK’s National Fitness Instructor Championship as an excellent opportunity to celebrate individual excellence in the health and fitness vocational training sector.”
WorldSkills UK is the new name for the UK’s premier set of skills competitions for young people and adults. WorldSkills UK is led by UK Skills, a not-for-profit organisation that champions vocational skills and learning for work through competitions and awards.
Stephen Studd, SkillsActives’s chief executive added: “The fitness competitions at WorldSkills UK next year will offer competitors the chance to publicly test their skills against others from across the UK. This will present those working in the fitness industry with an excellent opportunity to showcase their skills and the dynamic nature of their work environment.”
