Two leisure centres run by sport and leisure management charity Fusion Lifestyle, on behalf of Charnwood Borough Council, are showing the results of renovations following an investment of more than £2.5m.

Loughborough Leisure Centre's revamp is now complete, while the first phase of a three stage development has been showcased at Soar Valley Leisure Centre.

Loughborough Leisure Centre now has a new 75-station gym, a new indoor cycling studio and a refurbished exercise studio. There is also a children’s softplay area, a café and a new reception area.

Soar Valley has a new fitness studio, health suite, refurbished reception and pool viewing area. The health suite, with sauna, steamroom and heated relaxation area has been a welcome new addition.

A new class timetable is also being introduced, alongside extra capacity for spin classes. The second phase of the redevelopment will focus on dry changing areas and the main gym will be refitted.

Paul Harley, Charnwood Borough Council's cabinet member for leisure and culture says: "The recent investment in our leisure centres demonstrates the Council and Fusion’s commitment to providing top quality services to local taxpayers and helping meet our aim of helping residents live healthier lives."
