IFE 2001 goes ahead
The International Food and Drink Exhibition is to go ahead as scheduled on 25-28 March; organisers say the exhibition has been largely unaffected by the current outbreak of foot and mouth disease. Alison Hunter, managing director of IFE organisers, Fresh RM, says that many buyers are travelling from cities and towns and so the current restrictions on movement in the countryside should have little effect on visitor numbers: Our current visitor ticket requests and Internet registrations have exceeded all expectations. We are an integral member of the food and drink industry, so we have been keeping very close to the situation and have of course taken advice from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. The Rt. Hon Nick Brown MP will be supporting the show by opening IFE on Monday 26 March at 11am. The show will take place at London's new ExCeL venue.
