Chicago Rock Café, Luminar Leisure's 60-strong chain of nostalgic restaurants, is to be expanded with plans to open 20 new sites in the next 24 months. Luminar is creating 1,000 jobs as part of the expansion, which will see venues open at Rochdale in June, Barnsley and Oldham in July, and in Mansfield and Grimsby later in the year. Chief executive, Stephen Thomas, says Chicago Rock Café is the focus of the company's expansion programme: Luminar Leisure is dedicated to continued fast track growth by means of both development of new sites and acquisition of existing venues. Chicago Rock Café will be at the vanguard of this expansion programme.
