The managing director of The Wynyard Club in Stockton-on-Tees, UK, has reportedly confirmed that the golf club is to undergo a transformation into a luxury resort complete with a spa, fitness centre and hotel.

More details regarding the health and fitness complex have yet to be released but, alongside the Wellington championship standard course and clubhouse, the new development will boast a luxury spa, a 25m swimming pool, squash and tennis court and a synthetic five-a-side football facility.

Speaking to the Evening Gazette, director of golf Chris Mounter said: “The aim is to establish Wynyard as a world-class golf, hotel and spa complex that will be a major asset to both the Tees Valley and the North East as a whole.” Details: www.wynyardgolfclub.co.uk
