New publications from Resource
Resource: The Council for Museums, Archives and Libraries, has published the consultation drafts of its plans for action for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and for Learning and Access. The ICT Strategic Plan presents a framework for the future of ICT with museums, archives and libraries, and is intended to provide a bridge between strategy and action. The Learning and Access Strategy is designed to help museums, archives and libraries support lifelong learning, social change and community development; improve the quality and range of services provided; attract and sustain new users; provide advice on best practice for issues relating to education, access, social inclusion and cultural diversity. Neville Mackay, chief executive of Resource, says the new strategies form a central part of Resource's future work plans: They will be of enormous benefit to the sector. We look forward to receiving comments from our stakeholders. A new set of guidelines, Museum Learning Online, has also been published looking at the creation, application and evaluation of online educational materials in the museum sector.
