Pavilion Garden plans unveiled
Bournemouth Borough Council has unveiled updated plans for the £59m Pavilion Garden project on the seafront in a bid to revamp the seaside town.
The proposed leisure development at the grade II-listed Pavilion building will feature a day spa and gardens on the rooftop overlooking the sea, an outside performance space and glass interval court, a casino and restaurants.
A 300-seat dance venue will also be located on the ground floor of the building, where Dance South West will provide courses, classes and professional development.
The planning board will consider the amended plans in March, which have already secured the support of English Heritage and the South West Regional Development Agency.
The venture will be developed by Trevor Osborne, according to designs drawn up by CZWG Architects – who worked on Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and the National Portrait Gallery – under the direction of the Trevor Osborne Property Group.
Leader of the council, Stephen MacLoughlin, said: “We’re delighted to unveil these latest plans. They include better quality outside space to be enjoyed by anyone in the town, whether or not they choose to eat in the restaurants, attend a performance or visit the casino.”
