Plymouth Argyle faces 10-point deduction
Plymouth Argyle Football Club (PAFC) has confirmed that it has issued a Notice of Intention to appoint administrators as it looks to resolve its current financial problems.
The move is designed to provide directors with the chance to seek new investment, while also protecting the npower League One club from insolvency action by creditors. PAFC insists that the decision does not mean that it is in administration, nor that it means it will necessarily call in administrators at a later date.
However, issuing the Notice of Intention will see PAFC incur a 10-point deduction from the Football League for breaching insolvency regulations. David Hinchliffe of Walker Morris Solicitors has been appointed to work alongside PAFC consultant Peter Ridsdale, who is acting as an independent advisor to the board.
