Health and fitness operator, Roko, launches a government-funded pre-school at its Nottingham facility next month.

The club, which opened in March, has been inspected by OFSTED and is registered to deliver the pre-school curriculum. The pre-school will run in the family area of the facility, which already houses facilities for after-school clubs.

Running five sessions a week, ROKO is able to offer 16 government-funded places to members and non-members.

The idea for the pre-school came from staff who currently run the club’s crèche facilities and between them have more than 20 year’s experience of running pre-schools. The staff are GNVQ qualified and have diplomas in Pre-School Practice.

The service supports the club’s commitment to deliver a family-friendly service and will help generate ancillary spend, says family activities manager, Peter Lyons.
