SkillsActive is developing a foundation degree framework for the health and fitness sector and is calling on members of the Register of Exercise professionals (REPs) to offer their views.

Foundation degrees are vocational higher education qualifications and the frameworks will provide fitness industry advice and guidance to those developing and reviewing foundation degrees in the sector in areas such as entry, progression, content, employer/ professional body links and work based learning.

The frameworks will be based on existing best practice, focus groups and employer interviews.

SkillsActive would like to invite REPs members with an interest in foundation degrees or higher education in health and fitness to one of three consultation events being held in April – 18th (London), 20th (Bath), 22nd (Leeds).

A spokesperson for the organization said: “SkillsActive would welcome REPs members’ views in the consultation on the frameworks – we hope foundation degrees will be a major qualification in the fitness sector which can be used for entry and progression within REPs.”

An on line registration form can be found at www.skillsactive.com/promotionlist/businessespromotion
