Wedgwood Story Wins Tourism Award
Wedgwood's £4.5 million-visitor attraction The Wedgwood Story has won an award in the 2001 Excellence in Tourism Awards.
The one-year-old visitor centre was voted 'best attraction drawing more than 100,000 visitors' in the awards, organised by the Heart of England Tourist Board.
The Wedgwood Story has attracted more than 100, 000 visitors since January, and incorporates a tour of the factory floor demonstrating the production of Wedgwood's Jasper ware, and also allows visitors to throw and decorate their own pots.
We are delighted with this accolade, which means The Wedgwood Story now goes forward to the English Tourism Council's national awards, said general manager, Graeme Whitehead. This award increases our confidence in the long term success of our new visitor centre.
