A new apprenticeship programme, which is designed to offer "high quality" employment opportunities to young people is to be unveiled by the De Vere Academy of Hospitality.

Due to formally launch on 1 February 2012, the De Vere Apprenticeship scheme is to last for at least 12 months and will see all candidates employed across the De Vere Group.

The programme has been devised following consultation with the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) and now complies with new standards for apprenticeships.

De Vere Academy managing director Kellie Rixon said: "The De Vere Academy now has an even more robust structure that will allow more and more young people to become stars in the UK catering, hospitality, and service sectors."

NAS chief executive Simon Waugh added: "The new delivery model proposed by De Vere, which provides young people with a minimum of 12 months programme, meets the comprehensive quality standards for apprenticeship announced today."
