Located in the heart of Exeter, Pyramids Leisure Centre is a fantastic facility offering a 6 lane 25m swimming pool, separate teaching pool, 40 station gym and G.P. referral and sports massage therapy rooms.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation and management of the centre including health and safety, customer care, financial control, as well as leading and managing staff.

You will be required to work 40 hours a week (to include evenings & weekends) and you must have a customer-focused approach.

The Person
The successful candidate should have a good knowledge of the leisure industry, excellent communication skills, flexibility and a commitment to customer service.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, be able to demonstrate problem solving attributes and be able to think on their feet. You will be able to manage a team and ensure the sound operation and safety of your team and customers during your duty shift. You will be delegated specific areas of responsibility for which you will be accountable.

You will ideally hold a current NPLQ, PPO and First aid at work qualification however training can be provided if required.

We are looking for a dynamic Fitness & Retention Manager who is commercially astute to join our team. You will be responsible for initiating and implementing an effective retention programme, working closely with the sales process to ensure we retain our existing client base and grow this further. You will have previous experience in a similar role, you will have management responsibilities so will need to lead a small team and work closely and effectively with the sales team. Reporting directly to the site Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be flexible, reliable, possess good communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.

The Fitness & Retention manager will work 40 hours per week. Your main duties will include identifying and implementing new methods for lead generation, organisation of marketing and promotions, setting action plans, liaising with local companies to set up corporate deals and providing the team with necessary tools to achieve targets. You will also be competent in data analysis and presenting this to the management teams. In addition, you will have an involvement in the day-to-day management of the gym and sales teams setting KPI’s, motivating the staff and deliver training to ensure the highest levels of customer service are always achieved.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years successful management experience, be highly motivated and have an in depth knowledge of GDPR. Previous marketing/fitness experience is also essential. They will also have the ability to lead and motivate a team, have extensive knowledge of the leisure industry, keep up to date with fitness trends, excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work and the commitment to deliver great customer service.

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a not for profit charitable organisation committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture related activities for the local communities of Backwell and Nailsea in which we serve.

Exciting opportunities exist for a Duty Manager looking to develop their career at two high performing leisure centres. Backwell Leisure Centre has a 25m 6 lane pool, teaching pool, a small gym, studio, four squash courts and a health suite. Scotch Horn Leisure Centre is a dryside facility comprising of a weights based gym, 50 station gym, auditorium, studio, spinning room, squash court and cafe

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will have a passion for delivering customer excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the centres including health and safety, customer care, financial procedures and leading and managing multiple departments. The posts include evenings and weekends, worked over 40 hours per week. Each Duty Manager post is subject to its own agreed responsibilities.

The Person
An NPLQ or First Aid at Work certificate are essential and a Pool Plant Operators qualification is desirable as well as a recognised Leisure Management qualification.

The successful candidate should have previous knowledge of the leisure industry and a good level of experience of working in a very busy wet/dry facility. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and a total commitment to customer service are essential. Successful applicants will be provided with full training in all aspects of this role.

Duty Manager
Bicester Leisure Centre, North Oxfordshire

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Duty Manager to lead our shift teams. The successful candidate will be dynamic, be able to demonstrate problem solving attributes and be able to think on their feet. You will be able to manage a team and ensure the sound operation and safety of your team and customers during your duty shift. You will also be delegated specific areas of responsibility for which you will be accountable.

Located in the North Oxfordshire Bicester Leisure Centre offers a wide range of facilities including 25M Swimming Pool, Play n Teach Pool, 4 Court Sports Hall, over 100 station Gym, dedicated Spin Studio, Activity Halls, Cafe, Ten Pin Bowling Facility, Health Suite, Creche, Squash Courts and 3G Astroturf 5 a side Pitches.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Centre Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation and management of the centre including health and safety, customer care, financial control, as well as leading and managing staff.

You will be required to work 40 hours a week on a shift (to include early mornings, evenings & weekends).

The Person
You will be qualified with a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, have at least 2 years experience of being a supervisor/ team leader. A Pool Plant Operators Certificate is desirable, although full training to obtain the required qualifications will be given.

Knowledge of health & safety, being passionate about customer service and able to motivate the staff team to deliver a quality service is important to the role.
