Seven days to go: What lies in store at Elevate 2017

With just seven days to go until Elevate descends on Excel, final preparations are underway to ensure the event is ready to host experts from a range of professions, all focused on coming together to address one key issue: physical inactivity.

Expected to welcome over 4000 attendees, the distinguished list of speakers across the four seminar streams, includes Mike Goody, Four-time Invictus Games gold medallist and three Olympians in Hannah Macleod, Callum Skinner and Professor Greg Whyte OBE.

In addition to the seminars, the exhibition, consisting of nine feature areas, three attractions and 150 exhibitors, allows attendees an unrivalled opportunity to learn more about exercise, health and performance.

Exhibitors include Matrix, Precor, Pulse, ZIVA, Core Health & Fitness, TRX, Les Mills and RLSS.

Attendees will also be able to download the exclusive Elevate 2017 app via the App Store and plan their visit to trial the latest fitness and health activities on the stage including rebounding with ((Bounce)), Parkour for all, Exercise for the over 50s with Move it or Lose it! and the new Go Row Indoor programme from British Rowing.

There are also several new aspects to this year’s event, including the Elevate Innovation Awards, designed to recognise the best products and services tackling inactivity; the Tech Lab, curated to highlight the latest tech products making a positive impact on physical activity levels; and the Fringe, an unofficial programme of events and activities, including an England Athletics RunTogether Group run and Paddle Boarding sessions taking place the morning of Thursday 11 May.

Elevate
Elevate is the UK’s largest physical activity trade event. Held annually Elevate brings the physical activity sector together with those working in performance and health to tackle one of the most important challenges of our time: tackling physical inactivity.
“The importance of the event, Elevate, is to bring together the fitness industry, the technology industry, the healthcare sector and the really important people - who are the practitioners who promote physical activity - and give them a sound bed of evidence to take away and use in their everyday lives. New equipment, new ideas, new energy.” Prof. Charlie Foster, World Health Organisation and Oxford University.
