08 Feb 2024
CVS Cheshire East and Everybody Health and Leisure have announced a collaboration to raise awareness and understanding of the signs and symptoms of cancer within 17 of their leisure facilities.
CVS Cheshire East are working with Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance to enhance awareness, enabling individuals to recognise potential signs and symptoms, and encouraging proactive health discussions. The partnership with the Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance has unlocked funding opportunities, allowing CVS to support community projects.
Lucy Coates Sector Development Officer (Projects & Innovation) Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance Social Action Lead CVS Cheshire East said: “This is an excellent opportunity to work in the community with Everybody, to raise awareness of cancer and how we can all lower our risks to the condition through some simple lifestyle choices. What better way to do this than through Everybody, a charity who every day seek to improve health and wellbeing in our local communities through the various activities offered at their leisure facilities.” In the coming months, Everybody Health and Leisure will be sharing awareness materials and key messages throughout their leisure centres and across their channels. Raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of cancer so individuals can prioritise their health, attend screening appointments, or seek medical advice for any health changes.

Donna Williamson, Senior Manager – Health Innovation at Everybody Health and Leisure, said: “In a mission to increase awareness of cancer, particularly up take of screening and early diagnoses, we were keen to work with CVS to support them in raising awareness to our staff, customers and local community.
