FloatFit: the water workout that's making a splash in Newport!
05 Feb 2020
Newport Live are the first provider in Wales to offer AquaPhysical's FloatFit classes at Newport Centre and the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre.
FloatFit is a revolutionary water-based workout that provides participants with a full body workout on a body length floating platform, the AquaBase, the world's first floating exercise mat. Newport Live offers eighteen FloatFit classes a week at Newport Centre and the Regional Pool & Tennis Centre for children aged 8-14 years and adults aged 14 years and above.
Newport Live offers three classes: FloatFit Hitt and FloatFit Balance for adults as well as FloatFit Grow for children aged 8 to 14 years. The 30 minute, water based classes are fun and low impact whilst using the unpredictability of water to create a dynamic workout. Making the most of water's instability and using the full length of the AquaBase to maximum effect – participants work the core continually to stay balanced.
Bryony Gurmin, Health, Fitness and Wellbeing Manager of Newport Live said "We are excited to have launched this new approach to fitness and know that people of all ages and abilities will find the classes a lot of fun. FloatFit offers a full body workout with a twist and is the perfect alternative to working out in the gym. To be the first provider in Wales to offer FloatFit reaffirms Newport Live desire to inspire people to be happier and healthier and to be the first choice for sport, leisure and fitness in the city."
FloatFit classes are included as part of Newport Live fitness membership with prices starting from £20.40 per month. They also offer a play and pay option for all Group Exercise Classes at Newport Live which includes FloatFit and is only £4 per class. Advanced booking via the Newport Live App is recommended as class space is limited.
Newport Live is a non-profit distribution organisation and registered charity, which means the money they make is wholly reinvested into the services and facilities they offer, so all Newport Live customers are supporting the local community through the delivery of these projects and activities. To find out more information about the FloatFit classes see the Newport Live website newportlive.co.uk for the latest class news and information.
