Community Leisure UK Announces New Partnership With the Welsh Sports Association

Community Leisure UK and the Welsh Sports Association have formalised their working relationship in Wales. Having worked together through the Covid19 pandemic to secure the future of sport and leisure, the two organisations have agreed an ongoing working relationship for the good of sport and physical activity in Wales.
Community Leisure UK represents all not-for-profit Leisure and Culture Trusts in Wales, operating community facilities across the country and managing 50% of all public leisure provision in Wales. The Welsh Sports Association represents around 120 organisations in Wales delivering sport and physical activity. Both have played a key role in securing ongoing support for the sector over the past 18 months.
This new strategic alliance will ensure that the Welsh sport and leisure sector is resilient and sustainable post-Covid-19. The two organisations will also work closely to demonstrate the value of the Welsh sport and leisure sector and the impact it has on the health of the nation.
By working together the two organisations hope to place their members on the best footing to face the coming challenges, and ensure the Welsh sport and leisure sector is fit for the future.
Victoria Ward, Chief Executive of the Welsh Sports Association said: “We’re really excited to continue working closely with Community Leisure UK. Their insight and support has been invaluable, and by working together we can provide a strong voice for all of our members in Wales and help build crucial links across the sector.
“Working together we’ll also be able to commercially support our members, unlocking cost savings and helping their businesses thrive.
“Strong partnerships are a priority for us at the WSA, and we’re pleased to sign this Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of our members. We look forward to working together on the really pressing issues that face our sector over the coming years.”
