Fife Sports and Leisure Trust Celebrates Success at British HR Awards 2026
13 May 2026
Fife Sports and Leisure Trust is celebrating national recognition after being named “People Team of the Year” at the British HR Awards 2026. The award was announced at a ceremony in London on 22nd April at the Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden.
The organisation’s People Team received the People Team of the Year (250–1000 employees) award, recognising the impact of a wide range of initiatives delivered over the past 12 months to enhance staff experience across the organisation.
Judges highlighted the team’s strong focus on building a supportive and engaged workplace culture, alongside clear and measurable results. This included initiatives designed to strengthen organisational culture and support staff to learn, develop and succeed in their roles.
The award also reflects the collaborative approach taken across the organisation, with the People Team working closely with colleagues and leaders to deliver meaningful, organisation-wide impact.
In addition to this win, Fife Sports and Leisure Trust was also shortlisted as a finalist for L&D Initiative of the Year, further recognising its commitment to learning, development and creating opportunities for staff to grow.
The British HR Awards celebrate organisations and teams across the UK that are passionate about delivering exceptional workplace experiences. With a record number of entries this year, competition was particularly strong, making this achievement even more significant.
Emma Walker, Chief Executive of Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for our organisation and a real testament to the work of our People Team. Over the past year, we’ve focused on creating a workplace where staff feel supported, valued and able to thrive, and it’s incredibly rewarding to see that recognised at a national level.”
Lana Turnbull, Head of People, added: “We’re incredibly proud to receive this award. Our focus has been on delivering initiatives that genuinely make a difference to our staff, backed by meaningful results and feedback. This recognition reflects the collaborative effort across the organisation to build a positive culture and support our people to grow and succeed.”
This latest recognition highlights Fife Sports and Leisure Trust’s ongoing commitment to investing in its people, delivering impactful initiatives, and continuing to build a workplace where everyone can succeed.
