About the job

The Regional Operations Manager - South is responsible for ensuring franchisees across the South of the UK region comply with énergie fitness brand standards and providing them with support to manage their businesses by maximising opportunities to grow membership, drive income generation and improve profitability.

The role involves applying formal business disciplines to monitor compliance and review business performance using audit and KPI measures to ensure full compliance.

The Regional Operations Manager provides leadership, inspiration and practical support to enable franchisees to have the best chance of achieving success. This will include regular communication, guidance with business plans, direction to appropriate group resources with ongoing coaching, mentoring and support.

A key aspect of this role will be a comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of the franchise environment, as well as, the ability to overcome multisite challenges.


Location

Our head office, énergie central is based in Milton Keynes. However, this field-based role will require flexibility to travel within the UK and will include some overnight stays. This role will be geographically positioned to the North of the UK.

A typical working week is likely to involve a day at head office at least once a week, visiting clubs in the region at least twice or three times per week and one or two days working from home.


Accountabilities

Amongst other things, the Regional Operations Manager - South is accountable for:

* ensuring Franchisees are compliant with the Franchise Agreement, Operating Manual and Systems at all times, by delivering the Brand Standards Audit process across the network and agreeing any actions required to close performance gaps.

* consistently review operational performance of individual Franchise businesses against KPIs, to drive network membership growth and revenue, by working closely with Franchises to ensure membership sales and retention strategies and systems are actively and effectively implemented in every club.

* develop and maintain productive working relationships with each Franchisee, providing appropriate and timely business advice, coaching and support to ensure a high-quality Franchisee experience.

* ensure franchisees fully adopt and embrace the company systems, policies and ways of working taking the necessary action required to enforce Brand standards resolutely.


About you?

You will be experienced in operating within the Health and Fitness industry or similar hospitality, retail or franchising and have a good understanding of what success looks like with the fitness industry, and most importantly, how to achieve it.

You will be an influential and encouraging leader in your approach to supporting clubs manage their systems and process including their use of the fitness business management systems.

Whilst having knowledge of marketing and sales in customer service-based businesses is important, knowing how to drive lead generation to optimum levels for conversion to grow membership, and an understanding of profit and loss accounting principles at an operational level are vital.

It would be great if you had:

* experience in large scale multiple site operations and operational business management
* strong team building and leadership qualities
* knowledge of the unique franchisor/franchisee relationship and support through the different stages of the franchise life cycle.
* experience in strategic business management and/or hold a professional business or fitness qualifications would be desirable.

We are looking for someone who can actively encourage our members while being focused on helping them achieve their goals.

You will need to be passionate about members needs, help, advise and train them to achieve individual goals.

You will need to be pro-active and outgoing to communicate with members and develop a professional relationship.

The role is crucial to the clubs success and you will be the first point of contact to answer queries and help members.

The main responsibilities will include gym instruction, writing exercise programmes and conducting various one-to-one appointments, including nutritional consultations.

Some administrative and sales duties will also apply at a later stage together with class instruction and face to face customer interaction.

Minimum Level 2 qualification in Gym Instruction, previous experience is preferable but not essential.

The qualifications to teach basic classes would be beneficial, but full training can be given.

A proactive attitude and excellent customer service skills are a must, as well as the ability to work as part of a committed team.
