GLL is looking for a General Manager to run both the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre and Platt Fields Parks in Manchester, ensuring they're operationally safe, successful and attract even more users from the local area and beyond.

The HSBC UK National Cycling Centre, opened in 1994 as Britain's first indoor Olympic cycling track which, has hosted three world track championships in recent years. It has the UK's only permanent international standard indoor BMX track plus 14 kilometres of outdoor mountain bike trails. Boasting a comprehensive track programme, we cater for all riders from novice to elite and schoolchildren to senior citizens, generating 45,000 rides per year. You'll also help drive participation at Platt Fields which is one of the principal parks in the heart of inner city Manchester offering a children's play area, family activities, an outdoor BMX track, skateboard park, bowling green, basketball and tennis.

An experienced General Manager with a genuine passion and knowledge for the world of cycling and related sports/recreation activities, you'll engage with many sections of the community either yourself or via your team. This is no typical 9-5, as you'll be up early to ensure Team GB can train in the Cycling Centre, walk the venue checking it's safe and prepared for customers and school visits and that the café team are up and running and ready to serve the many people who walk through our doors every day.

We want people to keep coming back whether they're beginners or experienced sports people - so your knowledge of all things 'cycling' will ensure we can offer great venues and spaced with consistent, quality lessons and courses. You'll come from a background of managing multiple facilities and have the relevant health & safety qualifications too. As a manager, you'll naturally have the great communication skills needed to work with national governing bodies, our senior management team, your venue team and of course, our community.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:
- Pension schemes
- Ride to work scheme
- Discounted membership at our leisure centres
- The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
- Career pathways
- Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best

If you have the passion and skills for this role, apply now.

All pay rates are subject to skills, experience, qualifications and location.

To be shortlisted for the role, internal applicants will need to demonstrate their commitment to GLL by becoming a Society member where eligible.
