The Plumstead Centre is a new facility opening in January 2020 and is set to become a cultural destination in the Plumstead area, combining health and fitness, performing arts and a large library.

It consists of a Grade 2 listed public library built in the early 1900s and completely renovated with many original features retained, combined with a brand new leisure centre built as an extension. The leisure centre element will include a 33 station gym with top of the range Technogym equipment, and two studios which will form the base for a large Performing Arts programme. Also included are a 42 capacity soft play facility, a Better Coffee Corner, a badminton court and three meeting rooms of varying sizes.

We are looking for two Health & Fitness Managers to join us at The Plumstead Cenrte. As a health and Fitness Manager roles offer you the opportunity to manage the business as part of a UK wide organisation that supports and promotes leisure and sport to all ages and abilities, from children's swimming lessons to health intervention programmes and even sponsorship of future Olympic medal winners. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for delivering and developing a high quality service and a successful business model. You'll work closely with the General Manager and have all the support of our regional team of experts to assist in the running of a successful facility.

In addition to a proven track record in managing a busy fitness or leisure centre, you'll have the necessary operational qualifications such as Fitness Instructor level 2, Group Exercise or Fitness Class Instructor and ideally a Level 3 to 4 leisure-related qualification. You'll have a demonstrable track record in providing a range of fitness services which challenge and excite members in a safe working environment. You will also need experience of delivering a range of exercise programmes and excellent customer service that retains and attracts new members. A background in sales would be beneficial, as you'll generate and close sales. It goes without saying that you'll be a strong people manager and have the business acumen necessary to plan and improve the products and services for our community.

In return, we offer a range of benefits that you'd expect from the UK's largest leisure provider:
- Pension schemes
- Ride to work scheme
- Discounted membership at our leisure centres
- The opportunity to join the GLL Society and have a say in how we're run plus associated social events
- Career pathways
- Ongoing training and development to help you to be the best
