We are currently hiring for a Technical Manager that will be right in the heart of our magic.

Responsibilities
• To ensure building facilities, displays shows, rides, cinema, equipment, machinery, alarms etc. are in safe, full working order and to the highest standard at all times.
• Ensure all daily/weekly/monthly revenue reporting requirements are met.
• Ensure all statutory equipment periodic inspections are arranged and all ‘in-house’ inspection regimes are implemented, or developed and subsequently implemented if found necessary.
• Ensure all follow up recommendations are carried out with immediate effect and that all relevant paperwork and signs offs are completed.
• Ensure all show related equipment and effects are in full working order at all times and are covered by a consistent preventative maintenance program.
• Project management of new display/rides areas.
• Be aware of all cost issues and keep tight control of external contractor payments, sourcing alternative suppliers to ensure value for money service and work.
• Management of inspection and testing of passenger devices on weekly, monthly and yearly basis as required in statutory guidance and PPM schedules ensure all staff work safely and without undue risk.
• Ensure site Maintenance activities are in full compliance with TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority) regulations and legislation regarding Amusement Devices.
• Ensure that adequate periodic safety checks are undertaken for fire, health & safety and emergency lighting etc, and that any hazards or defects are either rectified immediately (if within the competence of the in house team) or reported to a senior manager as soon as they become apparent.
• Responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical and control systems so that safety is ensured for both members of the public and staff and so that minimal down time is achieved.
• Responsible for co-ordination of capex related projects, seasonal features and upgrades to the visitor experience, and liaison with all relevant parties including external contractors.
• Tight control of an annual maintenance budget, including repairs, equipment hire, ride shutdown maintenance, cleaning, environmental services etc. Keep to a tightly scheduled preventative maintenance program so that costs can be predicted rather than occurring ad-hoc.
• Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the MERLIN ENTERTAINMENTS plc Health, Safety & Security POLICY (HS001) AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (HS001/A)

Qualifications
• 3-5 years of Technical Experience
• Management Experience
• Experience working within the Hospitality or Attractions- Entertainment industry is considered as an asset

About The Role

Manage a team of fun driven and enthusiastic magic and memorable experience makers. We are now looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our Management Team. The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day smooth and profitable operation of our dynamic attraction and has the ability to work at a quick pace and exhibit situational flexibility. Through diligent work and optimal fun you will strive to achieve the financial targets as well as lead and develop your team.

Responsibilities:
• Manage the Operational areas of the business ensuring the delivery of a seamless visit consistent with corporate brand image.
• Ensure that the attraction is presented and maintained to corporate acceptable standards in all areas at all times.
• Meets secondary spends, KPI and Mystery Visitor targets while controlling labor, cost of sale and other expense budgets.
• Assume responsibilities of the General Manager in his/her absence, liaising with Senior Management when appropriate.
• Ensure and employees are in a clean and safe environment that meets health & safety standards as set by company as well as local rules and regulations at all times.
• Takes an active role in devising and implementing Customer Service strategy.
• Monitors standards of service and guest response to overall product, through observations and guest comments.
• Recommends short and long term changes through feedback, daily reports and proposals.
• Coaches and motivates staff to provide best possible guest experience, to maximize sales opportunities and to ensure admission and commercial spend targets are achieved.
• Demonstrates strong service and sales approach; leading by example throughout the Attraction to maximize up-sells, product excellence, event delivery, etc.
• Responsibility to ensure compliance of Health, Safety & Security within the workplace and in line with the Group Policy (HS001).
•Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

We are looking for a highly self–motivated strong leader with proven success managing operational teams. Passion for providing excellent experiences to our guests is critical.

This combined with your excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills will be vital in driving visitor numbers to the attraction and getting the most out of your team.

• Minimum of 3-5 years of service industry experience with 3 years of management experience required including a visitor attraction, theme park, museum, hotel or theater environment; or equivalent combination of experience and education.

• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and multi task as necessary.

• Extensive knowledge of computer including Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook and Word.

• Desire to work in fast-paced environments.

• Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
